Kechi, you know we keep it real here. I want to drop a note....
How many of us are truly "O.K." and what does "O.K." even mean? The term is relevant I suppose. "Depends on the day" may be a response that jumps into our heads. "Depends what is going on in my life at the time." might be another response.
Some days we get by with the get'n by while others it is a struggle just to get out of bed. Everyone has their own story. Everyone has their own struggles. I'm here to tell you that EVERYONE can have their own victories too!! I am walking proof and I don't walk alone.
This job has taken it's toll on many first responders. Writing that blank check and serving our country has taken its toll on all of our servicemen and women. What do you do when it all piles up and you hit your breaking point?? Most men will stuff it in a nice heavy duty box and shove it down. Most ladies will find a way to deal with it and keep pushing forward.... but that all comes at a cost and that bill will come when you don't expect it. Eventually that box will topple over, the emotions will spill out, and you're going to have a mess.
I am here to tell you its ok, to not be ok. I am also here to tell you this is where we get pro-active about our mental health. What if we worked to get our mental health in check before that "Check Engine" light comes on or before we break down all together. You can and here is how.
Warriors' Ascent is a five day program I was able to attend a few years ago. It changed everything. PTS does not define you and it does not control you. This program puts a hard focus on eating real food, meditation, and an overall holistic approach. It allowed me to reset mentally and take on a whole new look at life.
Mike Kenny (Army Ranger Ret.) and his team work tirelessly every year to make sure this FREE program exists for military and first responders. Yes, FREE ( no matter where you live in this nation). His staff of AMAZING people are not just employees, they are warriors who bought into the mission of helping YOU.
If you want to know more about this program look them up or please send us a message. If you feel you need this program, we are here, drop us a note. Sometimes that is the hardest part of healing.
Memorial day is right around the corner. There is a lot of emotion in this holiday. You are not alone. There is help. Check out Warriors' Ascent and reach out if you have any questions!
All the love Kechi and community
