After 12 years of produce farming and bringing local home grown produce to your doorstep, it’s time I throw in the towel. This has been an extremely challenging decision this spring, but I also know it’s a decision that needed to be made a few years ago…

I wanted to thank all of my many customers and supporters throughout the years. It truly has meant a lot to me to grow great products for your family’s.

Life has pulled me in so many different directions over the last few years and now it’s time I take a step back and focus on my new endeavors that God has blessed me with, such as the hunting business, etc…

Thank you for the many years of allowing me to grow for you, this isn’t the easiest decision I’ve ever made, but I know it’s the right one…

First shipment of sweet corn and green bean seeds are here! Won’t be long we will be turning dirt and planting all of your favorite home grown vegetables!!

🍅 🌽 After more than a decade of providing local home grown produce, I have decided to cut back on a few acres for the 2025 growing season at Rusty Acre Farms ……

This decision is not an easy one, but is long overdue. It comes about because of the very high input costs, my many long hours that it takes to run the farm myself, trying to keep costs low for the consumer, lack of decent profit, and having multiple other irons in the same fire….

I have been blessed over the years with great customers. This is no easy decision, but I will still be bringing you the great quality that customers deserve. I may be downscaling just a bit, but I will still be growing the great products you all love!

Good Evening!

I wanted to take the time to thank everyone for the 2024 growing season! We had a pretty good year providing you with home grown, local produce!

There has been “talk” around the block that I may be stepping down and not farming produce any more… I wanted to clear that up and let you know I WILL be farming produce another year in 2025!!

I will add…. And not to get political, but… the last 2 to 3 years has been tight to make a profit… and sometimes break even ….. a lot of people also don’t realize the TIME that goes into growing produce…… especially for a one man band….. the cost of my seed has doubled, the cost of fertilizer has gone up, and I haven’t raised any of my prices since COVID. I felt that we all were hit with this current administrations inflation problem, and the price of groceries, living expenses, etc. I didn’t want to add to the pocket book of those just trying to feed their families good products… so I kept my prices fair and low!!! Ive been growing produce for around 10 years now and each year seems like it has its own sort of different challenges! But…. We always come through!!! 🌽

I will be moving my operations to one central
Farm instead of 4 different farms… which was a lot of running back and forth!!! There will be a self serve stand at this new farm as well!

I do hope you stick with me for the 2025 growing season! It’s going to be different for me as I’ll be trying to build up the best ground/soil possible for produce on the new ground….

I will be processing PopKorn within the next couple weeks and will be starting to take those orders! 🍿

🌽 What a CORNTASTIC WEEK! 🌽

I just wanted to thank each and everyone that was able to get some of my sweet corn this week. I’m a one man band, it was a busy week and you all had me running around the clock! Which is a good thing!!! The first and second patches are now done. Thank you all for your support! Growing local sure means a lot!!

If you missed the first two patches you’re in luck! The next two patches will be ready for market in about 2-3 weeks! I can go ahead and take pre-orders now!

Just a quick update on the produce front!!

Sweet corn is looking pretty dang good!!! Waist high on the first plantings. Broccoli, cabbage, tomatoes, potatoes, sunflowers, zucchini, watermelons, popcorn, green beans, and cucumbers all look pretty good after a good watering tonight.

We are lucky ! Prayers for a decent little rain sometime soon !! Although it’s been a wet spring, that moisture is quickly disappearing with these hot temps!!

Please remember the efforts and TIME it takes to actually grow fresh local farm grown produce …. It truly matters. STOP shopping at your wal-mart for fresh vegetables and goodies. Shop LOCAL!!

Cabbages are in ! Along with sweet corn, broccoli, tomatoes, green beans, watermelons, cucumbers, zucchini, yellow squash, potatoes, sunflowers, zinnias, popcorn, and more !

It has definitely been a busy 48 hours! But we are blessed with the dry and warm opportunity to get things planted still…..

Busy day on the produce front….. we were able to get in the ground and plant some sweet corn and some green beans! Major plus especially for April 27th!

Also was able to get the pumpkin patch bush hogged and disked up as well.

Busy days and long nights make it all happen!
