In a groundbreaking study, Australian scientists have found that melittin — a potent compound found in bee venom — can wipe out aggressive breast cancer cells, such as triple-negative and HER2-enriched types, in less than an hour. Even more remarkable, it leaves healthy cells completely untouched.
Researchers believe melittin works by punching holes in cancer cell membranes and disrupting key signaling pathways, making it impossible for tumors to grow or spread. While still in early stages, this discovery could lead to targeted therapies that are faster, more effective, and far less harmful than chemotherapy.
