The Town Hall at the end of the event with City leaders made me so proud of our city and level of care they show for our small businesses and over all food system!💚💚💚

This week’s Organic produce pretty in purple!! Purple Cabbage, Leeks, Pink Lady Apples, Red Beets, Purple Majesty Potatoes, Treviso Tardivo, Collard and Mustard Greens, Purple Onion, Purple Sprouting Broccoli, and Shiitake Mushrooms!! Yum! It all tastes as good as it looks!!

WTF do we do with winter squash?! When it comes to local food, squash is a regional winter staple that can be a little daunting if you don’t know what to do with it. Like apples, winter squash is a storage crop that is harvested all at once in the fall, but continues to cure and ripen during winter storage. Each variety has its own ideal time ranging from October through February. Here are a few ideas of what you can do. My favorite is still the simplest. Cut it, roast it, add a little butter and salt and treat it like a bowl of mashed potatoes that comes with its own bowl!
