A small puck with a big impact. Meliora’s dish soap is made with simple, recognizable ingredients that clean effectively without the synthetic fragrances, dyes, preservatives, and petroleum-derived ingredients commonly found in conventional dish soaps.⁣

Each puck comes in completely plastic-free packaging, helping reduce the endless cycle of single-use plastic bottles that often end up in landfills, waterways, and oceans. Just wet your sponge, brush, or dishcloth and rub it directly onto the puck for rich, long-lasting suds.⁣

Unlike many conventional liquid dish soaps that are mostly water packaged in plastic, Meliora skips the unnecessary fillers and focuses on what matters: effective cleaning, transparent ingredients, and less waste.⁣

Cleaner dishes. Cleaner ingredients. Less plastic.⁣

Harvested from the nuts of the shea tree native to West Africa, shea butter has been used for generations as a deeply nourishing moisturizer for skin and hair. Ours is sourced from Ghana, where the nuts are traditionally collected by hand after they naturally fall from the tree. The kernels are then cleaned, roasted, ground, and processed into the rich, creamy butter many of us know and love.⁣

For centuries, shea butter has been used to protect skin from harsh climates, soothe dryness, and support healthy-looking skin. Its versatility is one reason it remains a staple ingredient today. Shea butter can be used on its own or gently melted and combined with oils, botanical extracts, and essential oils to create body butters, balms, salves, and whipped skincare products.⁣

Beyond its benefits for skin, shea butter is also a more sustainable alternative to many petroleum-derived ingredients commonly found in conventional personal care products. As a renewable plant-based resource, shea butter is biodegradable and harvested from living trees that continue producing nuts year after year. Petroleum-based moisturizers originate from fossil fuels, a finite resource that requires energy-intensive extraction and processing.⁣

Choosing shea butter supports a natural ingredient with a long cultural history, and a lower environmental impact. ⁣

Bring your own container or choose one of ours and refill only what you need. ⁣

Made from natural sisal fiber, a durable material derived from the agave plant, these simple pouches help you get the most out of every bar of soap. Just tuck your soap inside and use the pouch as a gentle exfoliator while you wash. The textured fibers create a rich lather and provide light exfoliation, leaving skin feeling refreshed and smooth.⁣⁣ Plus, why would you rub microplastics into your skin? 🤔
⁣⁣
They’re also the perfect soap saver. Don’t lose those tiny soap scraps that are too small to hold. Collect them in the pouch and use every last bit before they disappear down the drain.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Unlike conventional plastic or acrylic loofahs, sisal is a plant-based, renewable material that won’t contribute microplastics to waterways and can be composted at the end of its life.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
To extend the life of both your soap and pouch, remove the soap after use and allow the pouch to dry between washes. A little extra care goes a long way.⁣⁣

Not all toilet paper is created equal. PlantPaper is made from sustainably grown bamboo, a fast-renewing resource that offers several advantages over traditional tree-based toilet paper:⁣

Bamboo grows incredibly fast and regenerates without replanting. ⁣

Requires less water than conventional tree farming.⁣

Helps reduce pressure on old-growth and virgin forests.⁣

Naturally strong, soft, and durable. ⁣

Biodegradable, septic-safe and packaged with sustainability in mind. ⁣

Each box includes 8 rolls of unwrapped bamboo toilet paper, making it a simple swap that reduces waste without sacrificing comfort.⁣

One of the biggest reasons we chose PlantPaper over other bamboo toilet paper brands is that the rolls are not bleached bright white. Many toilet papers on the market undergo additional processing to achieve that white appearance. PlantPaper keeps things closer to their natural state, resulting in a more natural-colored roll and fewer unnecessary processing steps.⁣

A small change in your bathroom can make a meaningful difference for our forests and planet.

What you’re looking at is a 40 lb bucket inside a cardboard box, to be sealed with water-activated tape and a shipping label.⁣

We received this bucket of powder from one of our suppliers and used it to refill our dispensers in the refill station. Now that it’s empty, we’ll reseal the bucket in the box with a single strip of water-activated tape, attach a shipping label, and send it back. The supplier will sanitize the bucket, refill it, and reuse the same shipping box when we or another shop need more product.⁣

What that means is that every refill doesn’t require a new bucket, a new box, or another trip to the recycling bin or landfill. Instead, we’re participating in a closed-loop system designed to get the most use possible out of the materials already in circulation.⁣ We also re-home buckets and barrels in the community.

When you use our refill station, you become part of that loop. Reusing the same container again and again shifts the focus away from packaging and back to the product itself. And we think the product should be every bit as thoughtfully made as the system that delivers it.⁣

Why the name Less Than?⁣

Because we believe better often starts with less.⁣

Less ingredients. No synthetic fragrances, artificial colors, optical brighteners, or unnecessary additives.⁣

Less factories. We work within existing production systems and supply chains rather than creating more manufacturing for the sake of manufacturing.⁣

Less waste. Our refill station operates through a community-sourced, closed-loop system designed to reduce what ends up in landfills.⁣

Less plastic. We don’t carry products packaged in plastic and consider the full life cycle of every material we bring into the shop.⁣

Less harsh chemicals. Most products are made from plant-derived ingredients instead of complex synthetic formulations.⁣

Less reliance on the landfill. More focus on materials and ingredients that return safely to the earth at the end of their useful life.⁣

Less packaging. Refill by weight, bring your own container, reuse one from our community jar collection, and take only what you need.⁣

If this lifestyle speaks to you, stop on and give us a try. ⁣

How to use our refill station 🫙 ⁣

Bring your own container or grab one of our free containers from our free section ⁣

If you’re using one of our containers, it’s already been sanitized and weighed. Simply fill as little or as much as you’d like and bring it to the register to check out.⁣

Bringing your own container? Stop by the register first so we can record the empty weight before you shop.⁣

A few refill tips:⁣

Place the dispenser nozzle inside the opening of your bottle while filling. This helps ensure the product goes where it’s supposed to.⁣

If your container uses a pump or spray top, leave a little room at the top for the assembly to fit back in. Overfilling can lead to spills and wasted product.⁣

It’s best practice not to squeeze every last gram into your bottle. A little headspace saves us on a lot of waste. ⁣

Please bring clean containers so contaminants don’t affect the products you’re refilling.⁣

Pumping fast doesn’t equal faster filling. The pump needs a fully controlled rebound to bring more product through the straw. The rebound, especially on thicker liquids is important. ⁣

The table and mat is your work space. We have scoops, funnels, and rags for your convenience. We’re also happy to help you fill anything. ⁣

Refilling helps reduce waste, decreases plastic dependency, save packaging, and keep perfectly good containers in use longer. Plus our ingredients are cleaner!⁣

🧜‍♀️ Save the Mermaids!⁣

Less Than and Ceremony works hard to curate products with minimal or no plastic packaging. It hasn’t always been the easiest path, but it’s one we believe matters.⁣

Plastic doesn’t disappear when we throw it away. Over time, it breaks down into smaller pieces known as microplastics, which find their way into our rivers, bays, oceans, wildlife, and ultimately our food chain. Scientists estimate that millions of tons of plastic enter aquatic ecosystems every year, with much of it eventually making its way to the ocean. Once there, it can persist for decades or even centuries while continuing to fragment into smaller particles.⁣

The truth is that every reusable bottle, every refill, every package-free product, and every small purchasing decision adds up. While no single person can solve the problem alone, collectively we can reduce the amount of plastic entering our waterways and help protect the ecosystems that make coastal communities like ours so special.⁣

Help save our local mermaids! 🧜‍♀️
