I've not been great at posting lately, as I've headed up marketing and the front end buying for our family businesses. We will have gorgeous rose bunches available this Wednesday at both our pharmacy locations and you don't want to miss them! 🎉 Meet the Owners: Joel & Kristin Davenport 🎉

As we get ready to celebrate 1 year of Westbury Express Pharmacy with you this Saturday, we thought it would be fun to introduce ourselves and share a little about why this pharmacy exists.

Joel grew up on a dairy farm in rural Texas, where he learned the value of hard work, serving others, and showing up every day—even when it's not easy. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy in 2011 and spent years working in retail pharmacy.

For a long time, opening his own pharmacy wasn't part of the plan. But year after year, he watched chain pharmacies become more focused on volume and less focused on people. Patients were getting less time with their pharmacist, and healthcare was becoming more impersonal. Joel believed there had to be a better way.

Kristin grew up in Mustang and earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from OU in '12. While healthcare has always been a passion, so has building community and creating spaces where people feel welcomed and cared for. She heads up our marketing and getting the word out about a better pharmacy experience.

Together, with our two kids, we took a leap of faith and opened Westbury Express Pharmacy with a simple goal:

❤️ Make healthcare easier, friendlier, and more personal.

One year later, we're incredibly grateful for every patient, family, physician, and community member who has trusted us with their care.

It always takes a minute to mentally and emotionally process a floral holiday. Mother's Day is particularly challenging, as it usually involves a lot of responsibilities tied to being a mom myself. End of school year activities along with a long list of floral tasks can be a lot. Add in conflicting emotions from losing my mom young and you just never know how I'll come out on the other side 🤪. I've had a minute to digest everything, and good news - I came out ok. I want to thank you so much for choosing to purchase flowers from us. I know there are many incredible options in the area and your support is not taken for granted.

My passion for growing flowers started with my mother, her mother, and her mother before her. Generations of growing flowers and loving others through it. Flowers are pure joy and they've helped me through seasons of hardship and celebration. They are my therapy and how I show my love to others. I find that when words or actions fail me, flowers never do. So this is my post of sincere gratitude for your continued support of my flowers at our locations Westbury Express Pharmacy OKC and Cedar Springs Pharmacy Tuttle .

Flowers are my love language and my therapy. The purple iris rhizome was given to me by a retired dairy farmer at church last year. We talk about flowers every Sunday and it makes me happy. All of the flowers in this photo were grown on our farm.

Can you guess our most requested flower?

If you were thinking peony, you’d be right 💐 And for good reason. It’s a stunning bloom and the plants can live for years.

I vividly remember stormy spring nights as a child… a mix of fear, anticipation and knowing we’d get to hunker down at home. We would rush around during the still before the storm to cover all my mom’s beloved plants before the winds took them out. Top of that list was the peony she had brought from my great grandmother’s homestead in the Ozarks. It was a treasure that reappeared each spring and just as quickly as it bloomed, it was gone. A fleeting beauty to be cherished. And cherished it was.

I planted my own peony patch when we first moved to our farm. Unfortunately, the cows found it and destroyed them the next year. I was able to salvage a handful and we relocated them a year and a half ago. And now they are blooming. The first bloom goes on my table in honor of my mom and great grandmother’s legacy. The rest are tucked in a few bouquets this week for you 💕 Available at Westbury Express Pharmacy OKC and Cedar Springs Pharmacy Tuttle
