~ Fairy Eggs ~

Sometimes a chickens ovulatory system misfires and creates an egg without a yolk. They are tiny, harmless little eggs that are still completely safe to eat.

They generally happen at the towards the beginning or end of a birds reproductive cycle, but sometimes they pop up due to stress.

We have new layers & a heat wave right now, so this one could be from either of the above scenarios.

This morning we woke up to TWO successful litters w/ 10 healthy babies in the nest box (3 DOA, total births 13)

Ms Piggy (Burntwoods Essence x Sea Salts Chunk) hopefully gave us some dilute babies this go around! These will all be chocolate based and carry dilute based off of their parents (Charlie lilac otter x chocolate self)

Magnolia also had 5 (1 doa) (broken black x orange). Not sure what they are yet! 1 solid, 3 broken. The solid one is giving otter or chestnut vibes.

Ft full siblings to our current broken chocolate otter doe we are obsessed with.

This morning a few of our furry & feathered friends got to participate in a daycare farm lesson!

I got to talk to kiddos about goats, chickens, bunnies, and a slew of other farm animals.

I love my animals, and I love seeing other people enjoy them as much as I do. ESPECIALLY those little kids.

While I’m not looking to quit my day job, it was definitely a fun experience 💕

I understand the circle of life. I know there are different purposes for different animals.

But someone make my brain understand why this rooster assist me. He’s one that I just couldn’t let go to be processed.

I bought this pretty girl and co-own her with another rabbit breeder because she’s SO CUTE.

Unfortunately we didn’t realize she possibly carried Vienna before we got her. We currently are not working with that in our program.
