Teeny tiny new little one. This mama was young, but did great on her own. Now to fatten that little heifer calf up. :) This is the 3rd generation of heifers born here, making our cow Butter a great grandma. That sure felt like it happened fast! And with all the crosses we are doing in that line, I am going to have to work on my math skills. ;)
Let's see how I do.
1/8- Angus
1/8- holstein
1/16- dexter
The rest Jersey... my brain is too tired for these kinds of fractions. Haha!! Who has the answer for me?? ;)

Getting near the end of the sweet potato slips! I will be adding Murasaki Purple for the weekend. If you haven't planted your sweet potatoes yet, today and tomorrow are EXCELLENT days to plant root crops, per the Old Farmers Almanac! They love that soggy ground when they are young also!! Come get them before they are gone! $1 each. Beauregard, Diane, Hernandez, and Porto Rico Bunching.

They are available right now at Red Coop Feed & Seed in downtown Bonham. Open until 3pm.

These heirloom and open pollinated tomatoes are tired of sitting inside on tables. ;) They need some sunshine and to be planted! $1 each! Come load them up! And if you have lost plants to hail, please let me gift you a few!

Today and tomorrow are excellent transplanting days via the Old Farmers Almanac. Great day to plant sweet potato slips too (which is what I am up to today!).

Come see us at Red Coop Feed & Seed in downtown Bonham. Open until 3pm.

You always hear not to grow peas or beans next to onions... sometimes you just have to test things out for yourself. These sweet peas are growing great in this bed with some of our onions. :) And for fun, a few yams are taking off up the trellis as well. :)

Sorry I have been quiet the past few days, but we finally finished up our meat birds for the spring. They really did well this time around!

I am ready to get my focus back to the garden.

I will not be at Red Coop Feed & Seed this Saturday, so if there is something in particular you are hoping to get let me know so I can be sure to drop it off for you!

3 bundles of Egyptian Walking Onions left!! They are up at Red Coop Feed & Seed. Last chance until the fall. They are $10 for a bundle. These onions multiply in two ways. The first is separating at the base like other multiplying onions. The second is that they form bulbs at the top that fall over and plant a new onion. As long as you don't harvest them all at once, you will always have onions. :)

Red Coop is open from 9-3 on Tuesday!
