We have an unauthorized hatching today!! This hen snuck into the garden and hid in a bunch of leaves in a bin that was on its side. I heard chirping today and found her with a little newly hatched baby - maybe 24 hrs old. She had quite a few eggs (mostly rotten🤢) one of the other eggs is chirping. Put the chirping one and 3 others that seem to be developed but no moving and chirping. I brought her inside in one of my tote brooders. I am sooo praying that these eggs don't explode in the house. Life finds a way!

10 Doz farm fresh eggs preserved by freeze drying. Each 1/2 gallon jar will hold 60 eggs if packed down. To reconstitute it is 2 tbsp powder to 2 tbsp water = 1 lg raw, scrambled egg. Are any other farms preserving their eggs this way?

Surprise fairy egg today from a hen I hatched last year. I thought she was an olive egger, but NO...full BCM with super dark, speckled genetics!! This is her first egg!! So excited!!
