𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐚𝐦’𝐬: 𝐁𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐫’𝐬 𝐇𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐦𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐨𝐧

We’ve been wanting to add a bacon we felt really good about carrying, and the more we learned about Beeler’s, the more it felt like a great fit for the market.

Beeler’s is a sixth generation family business with roots in Iowa dating back to 1846. That history, along with the care they put into how their pork is raised and what goes into their products, is a big part of what stood out to us.

Their Hickory Smoked Uncured Bacon is made with humanely raised Heritage Duroc pork and a short, simple ingredient list with just pork, water, sea salt, turbinado sugar and celery powder.

A few other things that stood out to us:

• No antibiotics ever
• No gestation crates
• Vegetarian fed
• Casein and gluten free

We’re always looking for familiar everyday products that have a little more thought and care behind them, and this is a great example of that.

We just received this week’s delivery from Providence Cattle Company, and we’re happy to say a couple of the items many of you were waiting on made it in this week.

In this week’s delivery:

• 90/10 Ground Beef
• Flank Steak

The 90/10 Ground Beef and Flank Steak were both unavailable with last week’s order, so we’re glad to finally have them here.

We know many of you have been patiently waiting for an update on the kitchen, and we truly appreciate your patience and continued support.

We also know this has taken a little longer than we originally hoped. We’ve had some promising conversations and explored a number of different ideas along the way, but we want to make sure we get this part of Sam’s right.

For us, it’s about more than simply filling the space. We want to find the right food concept and the right partner. Something with great food, quality ingredients, fair and approachable pricing, and the potential to become a neighborhood staple that people are genuinely excited to have here in Oldsmar.

Many of you have shared ideas with us along the way, especially for a great sub shop or deli, and we’ve been listening.

As we continue the search, we’d love your help. If there’s a local restaurant, food truck, chef, caterer or food business you love and think could be a great fit for a brick and mortar location inside Sam’s, please send them our way or share this post with them.

We’d be more than happy to have a conversation and see if it could be the right fit.

𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐈𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬 𝐈𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭

We’ve got four new additions in the market this week, and each one stood out to us for a different reason. They’re familiar everyday foods, but made with a little more care, better ingredients and the kind of quality we look for when bringing something new in.

• 𝐇𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐲’𝐬 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐁𝐞𝐞𝐟 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐬

These aren’t your typical hot dogs. Hippey’s comes from Denver Meat Company in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, with a long tradition of smoked meats. Their all-beef franks are made with premium cuts of beef, no fillers or MSG, and hardwood smoked over real hickory. Six large franks in every one-pound package.

• 𝐆𝐨𝐝𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥’𝐬 𝐁𝐞𝐞𝐟 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐨𝐧

Godshall’s has specialized in smoked meats since 1945. Their beef bacon is naturally smoked over real wood, contains no MSG, is gluten-free, and cooks up crisp with that familiar smoky bacon flavor. A great option for anyone looking for something different from traditional bacon.

• 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐥𝐭𝐳𝐟𝐮𝐬 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐘𝐨𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐭

Stoltzfus started as a small family dairy in Central New York. Their creamline plain yogurt is high in protein and made with non-homogenized milk and live cultures, giving it a rich, traditional texture while keeping the ingredient list simple.

• 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐚𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐥

Real butter blended with garlic, parmesan and basil, with no added oils. Simple ingredients, plenty of flavor, and an easy way to add something extra to bread, pasta, vegetables, steak, eggs and more.

Four very different products, but all with something in common: they take familiar everyday foods and simply do them better. Those are exactly the kinds of finds we enjoy bringing into the market.

Our latest delivery from Goodness arrived today, and we’ve added something new to the mix: freshly made subs.

Goodness makes their food locally in St. Petersburg using real, recognizable ingredients, with no seed oils or preservatives. Their menu changes regularly, giving us a chance to bring in a little variety from week to week.

We just received a fresh delivery from Dakin Dairy Farms.

If you missed our previous posts, Dakin is a local, family-owned dairy farm in Myakka City, just outside of Sarasota. Their cows receive fresh grass year-round, and the entire process, from milking to bottling, takes place right there on their Manatee County farm.

Dakin also puts a strong focus on cow health and sustainable farming. They grow their own grass on the farm, use practices that eliminate the need for pesticides, and produce their dairy products without antibiotics or added growth hormones.
