This past spring, we had the opportunity to stand up for co-ops at the State Capitol. Our board submitted written testimony supporting HB 5431: An Act Concerning Cooperative Corporations, a bill that modernizes Connecticut's cooperative laws and makes it easier for member-owned food co-ops like ours to form, govern, and grow. We were proud to add our voice alongside other CT co-ops and the Connecticut Bar Association.

Did you know you can already become a member-owner of the Farmington River Food Co-op? farmingtonriverfood.coop/join

You don't have to wait for the doors to open. Right now, a one-time $200 equity investment makes you a founding member-owner, with full voting rights and a real voice in the community grocery store we're building together in Northwest Connecticut.
This is more than a grocery store. It's a community effort to strengthen our region for generations, and we'd love for you to be part of it from the very beginning.

Join online or by mail at PO Box 46, New Hartford, CT 06057 (checks payable to Farmington River Food Co-op).

What a weekend at the New Hartford Chalk Walk! Awesome chalk art, great music and performances, and a whole lot of community spirit.

A big thank you to Pleasant Valley Children's Center, a fellow cooperative, for a wonderful family day right in the heart of town. This is exactly the kind of community we're building with the Farmington River Food Co-op!

Thank you for visiting our page! We are a group of Northwest CT residents working to establish a food co-op. Our mission is:

“To open a member-owned, cooperative grocery store that makes good food from local growers and grocery suppliers available at a fair price to all residents in the Northwest Connecticut region, while empowering the local community through sustainable practices, food-centric education, and outreach.”
