Edited to add!! How could I forget about the deli meat sandwiches?!?! I'll have honey ham and swiss sandwiches and smoked turkey and colby jack sandwiches at the market. 1/2lb sandwiches on Small Hilltop Homestead Sourdough Bread! 😋

This week I'm bringing something a little different... and I need your opinion.

You all know I love making bagels, but last time I made them, shaping them literally added about 8 hours to my baking day. As I was rolling bagel after bagel, I kept thinking...

"Why do bagels even have holes? Is there some important reason, or am I just making my life harder?" 😂

So I experimented.

Instead of rolling each one by hand, I cut the dough into rectangles, boiled them, and baked them just like a traditional bagel.

The verdict? They're delicious.

The best part? Your cream cheese can't fall through the middle anymore. 😆 They also make a fantastic sandwich.

Now... full transparency. They came out a little flatter than I had pictured in my head. 😂 They're still chewy, still delicious, and I'm absolutely bringing them to market, but I haven't decided if this is their final form or if I'll go back to shaping them the traditional way. 😅

Because they're a little flatter than I hoped, I'm also dropping the price from $15 to $12 for a four-pack this week. I'd love your honest feedback if you pick some up!

Now I just need a name for them because they're definitely bagels... but they don't look like bagels anymore. They kind of look like ciabatta rolls, but they're not. So if you grab a pack this week, let me know what you think and help me name them!
