The caves are filling up with new batches of our varieties of cheeses! New for the shelves is Sugar Slalom, Tres Amigos, Sunrise, Patrolmans Blues, and the last of the Inspiration! The Lainey Rose is washed with Spruce Peak from Stowe Cider. It will be ready in May! See me in Montpelier at the farmers market at the old Vt. College or stop and see Mrs. Small at Mansfield Dairy, Commodities, or Stowe Village Market, or Stowe Public House! Still great skiing at Stowe, so grab your runs while it’s still available!

First boil of the season! Locke’s maple syrup is our choice for coating our Sugar Slalom cheese! Looking a little funky in the caves, but the caves tell me when the cheese is ready! Celebrated Lainey Rose’s third birthday with some new goggles, but had to get a new pair for Maeve as well! Check out our booth at today’s Montpelier Farmers Market! 10-1 at the old Vt. College! Week of skiing and cheese distribution! Teaching in the morning and working in the creamery in the afternoon! After stocking our outlets, they have all sold out again! Recently stocked places are, Elmore Store, Mansfield Dairy, Commodities Market, and Stowe Public House! I’ll be at the Montpelier Farmers Market tomorrow from 10-1! I will have this beautiful wheel of Halfpipe, notes of butterscotch at the finish! Also the Patrolmans Blues and Inspiration are not to be missed! Yesterday was National Milk Day. This is how we transform a portion of our milk into raw milk cheese! When I teach skiing, I usually carry a piece as a healthy snack! I’m glad Helly Hansen thought about having a cheese pocket in the pants!! Drink Whole Milk! Get it fresh from your local Co-op! Real milk makes healthy bones!! Mt. Mansfield Creamery will be at the Montpelier Farmers Market this Saturday! We will have a new batch of Patrolmans Blues!!

Merry Christmas from Mt. Mansfield Creamery. Busy day in the farm with a new born calf! Looking for our products? Head to Mansfield Dairy in Stowe, Commodities Natural Market, as well as Stowe Public House! Enjoy our Forerunner cheese at American Flatbread for the remainder of December, or head up to Von Trapp Brewery, the Pretzel dip is delicious, soup is amazing, and the cheese board is decorated nicely. A silver award for the Lainey Rose at the World Cheese Awards in Switzerland!!!

📣 We've just received word that Vermont took home at least 33 awards at the World Cheese Awards international competition in Bern, Switzerland today!

Taking place annually, the World Cheese Awards is an international competition hosted by different nations, working with the Guild of Fine Food to shine a light on local cheesemaking, food & drink tourism and culture. This year there were 5,000 cheeses from over 40 countries.

Back in the cheese room and buckling down to fill the caves for the winter! I try to sample a batch of the cheese I’m making, today, Forerunner, our ACS winner! Light and buttery, can taste the quality of milk the cows are producing! Like a pad of butter on your pallet! I’ll have this and others at the last outdoor market in Montpelier, 9-1, we sold out last week, so shop early! And did I mention the Patrolmans Blues is like none other!

Debora and I have been on the road! Utah and the 5 national parks! What cheese did we bring! Chin Clip! Had a piece in my bag for 3 days! Tasted amazing! Raw milk cheeses, while we suggest refrigerating, many times i have not and the flavor profile just gets better!

Lots of cool things going on at the Creamery! Making lots of cheese, making some new products, doing some interesting affinage in the caves! Tonight I will be at Barr Hill Distillery as part of the Vt. Cheese Week! I smoked two wheels of our Halfpipe cheese with hickory! Notes of bacon, just enough smoke. Stop by our booth for a sample and an opportunity to purchase some of our products, including the Patrolmans Blues! 5:30-7! Let’s drink some Gin and talk cheese!!

Vermont Cheese Week is coming up in September! Mt. Mansfield Creamery would like to offer a one day cheese class for up to six people! September 8, from 10-2 pm! The class will include talking cheese, eating cheese, making a batch using 120 gallons of cows milk, and some cave work!
