MEET THE CAST: Amanda Hussey Fowler (Marlafaye) A Mooreville native and 26-year educator, Amanda spent two years in a Dorsey 6th grade classroom before becoming the librarian for Mooreville High. Turns out, decades spent managing teenagers is the ultimate rehearsal for theatre.
A lifelong vocalist leading singing at Andrew's Chapel Church, she returns to a theater stage after a 30-year intermission.
Since that ninth-grade debut in Li'l Abner (where she shared the stage with Lee, who would later become her RN husband and play the role of Marryin’ Sam), she's discovered that surviving campus politics and breakup drama has made the transition from fluorescent-lit hallways to the spotlight feel surprisingly natural.
On the homefront, they keep up with two daughters: Rianna, a rising sophomore in band and choir at MHS, and Aurora, a rising senior in the vocal discipline at the prestigious Mississippi School of the Arts where she performed as Rosie in their production of Mamma Mia!
Amanda is thankful to represent gritty, courageous Southern women in her first TCT show—the ones who catch the curveballs life throws and keep moving. She and Marlafayeinvite you to sit a spell and raise a glass.
