Checked on the girls this weekend!!

Swam hive is doing great things in their hive. After 5 weeks, they have almost 13 frames ready to be filled with brood and honey. I even got a quick look at the beautiful Italian queen!! Left all the empty frames in there just in case they didn't want to slow down.

My second year girls are still not expanding their hive. So I took out the queen excluder and checker board the whole hive. They are also back filling the hive with honey. I don't know if the queen has enough room to continue to lay.

I'll check back in a few weeks to see what they decided to do.

Highlights from the farm this weekend:
Brought calves over to wing on Saturday with freeing bottle cap to play with the teenagers.
Harvested the garlic for year. 😍😍

It was a beautiful evening last night. Brian got the rake out to grease and I got the weedeater out and enjoyed the evening.

Update on bees: they have decided to stay!!

Today was a great day!! Went to go help Brian Hull with some farm clean up and caught me a swarm!! It took 3.5 hours to get them all in the box and bring the bees to their new home. Soooo amazing!!!

Went through the hive today, the queen has all the frames mainly filled with great brood patterns. No hive beetles and they build brood below the frame, this brood had no signs of mites. I gave the queen two more frames, I also put the queen excluder on and two more frames after the excluder.🐝🐝🐝 might be able to do a walk away split. ❤️
