The Metuchen Farmers Market is seeking passionate community members to fill up to two board positions ahead of the upcoming season 🎉🥦😆

Secretary:
Help keep our board organized by taking meeting notes, assisting with agendas, and supporting basic communications. This role is perfect for someone who’s detail-oriented and collaborative.

General Board Position:
An enthusiastic community-minded individual committed to working towards a better farmers market. Ideal for someone with a background or interest in finance, grant writing, or nonprofit operations.

These roles are full Board positions and thus weigh in on all Board discussions and decisions. It’s a great opportunity to support local farmers, small businesses, and a vibrant community gathering we all love.

The MFM family is mourning the loss of Produce Pete. We had the pleasure and honor of welcoming Produce Pete to the market many times over the years. He was always so glad to meet his Metuchen fans, take photos, and sign books.

Our hearts go out to his wife, Bette, and their family. May we all honor his memory by living by one of his famous quotes: “If you eat right, you’re going to live right.”

What a season!! 🥦💚 2025 welcomed nearly twenty new vendors, pop-up artists, local community and business groups, and events and initiatives such as National Farmers Market Week, Tomato Fest, Applepalooza, and most important, the extension of fresh food to more households provided by SNAP and Good Food Bucks.

If you are in town this Saturday, please come by for the last Metuchen Farmers Market Day of the 2025 Season. We'd love to see you 🥹

We mean it when we say we appreciate you, showing up each week to spend your dollars locally, directly supporting our NJ farmers, businesses, and creatives. The world is an especially shaky place right now, and we need to help each other more than ever, beginning right here, in our community. That goodness really does spreads outward, connecting us to others in a network of caring and kindness. You've seen what we can do together 💚💪

It has been a remarkably strong year for MFM, with almost twenty new vendors, pop-up artists, local community and business groups, and events and initiatives such as National Farmers Market Week, Tomato Fest, Applepalooza, and most important, the extension of fresh food to more households provided by SNAP and Good Food Bucks.

On that note, for those in need, we still have more free vouchers good towards fresh fruits and vegetables from our produce farmers, including Zell's 🍄. Simply request a voucher at the MFM table (showing a SNAP EBT card is not essential).

With gratitude, and wishing you and yours a warm and nourishing Thanksgiving in all ways. Spread the love. Keep an eye out for an occasional off-season update and see you in 2026!
