A sweet write up about us!!
I was technically off duty when Cackleberries held their end-of-summer event. Tara was there selling Biederman's Pepper Jelly. I was not. Did that stop me from showing up anyway to take pictures, scope out the situation and generally not mind my own business? Of course not.
I wandered around checking out the vendors and taking pictures, which was at least vaguely related to Biederman's for a little while. Then I got distracted by the food, had one of the best burgers I've had in recent memory and, naturally, followed it with a c***r donut. Again, I would like to emphasize that I was not working. I was just apparently incapable of staying home when something interesting was happening.
Before the burger derailed whatever professional purpose I was pretending to have, though, I noticed what was parked directly beside Tara's Biederman's setup. She had somehow hit the vendor-neighbor jackpot and spent the afternoon next to this ridiculously adorable old turquoise truck overflowing with flowers.
I remember being a little jealous of her view. The weathered turquoise paint, the rust, the wood, the flowers tucked everywhere, the pumpkins — the whole thing was so perfectly put together that it was hard not to stare at it. And because whoever created this clearly wasn't satisfied with merely having the cutest display at the event, the name on the front was The Flower Bed.
It's a truck bed. Full of flowers.
I appreciate this level of commitment to a pun.
I didn't know anything about The Flower Bed at the time, but I recently found them on Facebook while going through my backlog of photos and immediately remembered how much I loved this thing. Apparently I took enough pictures of it to prove that I was considerably more interested in Tara's neighbor than I was in whatever I had supposedly shown up to accomplish.
In my defense, I did eventually take pictures of the pepper jelly. I also ate the burger, ate the c***r donut, wandered around looking at everyone else's stuff and then went home having accomplished absolutely nothing that anyone had actually asked me to do.
It was a very productive day off. 😂
