Temple Food Mart was founded by Arthur Skiathitis, Sr. several decades ago and is located at 121 Baker Street in Manchester. Years after opening the grocery business, he married Julienne Fleurinda Thibodeau. As the decades moved onward, Julienne became sort of a Matriarch at the store. The month of August is bittersweet as Julienne was born and also passed away during this month.

She was known as "Mrs. Maple" at a local Dunkin Donuts she would frequently go to. A small carvout in the store memorializing her spirit and good nature is "Julienne's Maple Nook." Please try some great NH Made Maple products this fall and winter. Help make this an even greater 5th year for the store since reopening. Thank you in advance.

Pictured is Julienne and Elvis, as he was impersonated in concert at Canobie Lake Park over 15 years ago. As he sang "Love Me Tender," he walked off the stage, placed a red scarf around her neck, kissed her on the cheek and said "Happy Birthday Mama." As you can see, she was BEAMING! One of my fondest memories of my mother. Please Snapchat and Follow & Share on Facebook at Temple Food Mart.

INDEPENDENCE DAY... The following photos represent an official pamphlet issued by the War Department, and received by Arthur Skiathitis, Sr. (as well as all other soldiers) as he returned HOME in 1945 from PATRIOTIC service of this great country during WWII. On the inside cover of the pamphlet is the second photo below. This shows one small piece of why we are all here today. Soldiers fighting for our Independence, and fighting for something that is not free... FREEDOM! And praying that they all continue to safely return home after their Patriotic service. Please remember their sacrifices when celebrating July 4th. Help make this an even better 5th year at Temple Food Mart. Please follow & share on Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat at Temple Food Mart.

Temple Food Mart's former owner, Arthur Skiathitis, Sr., doing what Dad's do in this late 1960's photo. Proud dad with his last child in his arms, mini Mark. Arthur Sr., in 1938, at 20 years of age, founded "Arthur's Temple Grocery" Store. After returning from service in WWII, the store later moved across the street, and opened in 1948. The name changed sometime thereafter to "Temple Food Mart," as it is still known today. Please visit and show your local support for this little old store, located at 121 Baker Street in Manchester. Still in the family and operated by the last of his 7 children... Mark (the boy in the photo). Happy Father's Day. Please Snapchat and Follow & Share on Facebook at Temple Food Mart.

MEMORIAL DAY... Please remember the Spirit of this great day... The servicemen and servicewomen no longer with us who served for the freedoms of America. Thank every surviving former or current service person if you have the chance, even beyond the holiday.

Representing the US Army during WWII is the late Arthur Skiathitis, Sr. Arthur Sr. (SKI) eventually went from Aviation training in San Angelo, Texas to serve behind enemy Japanese lines overseas for the O.S.S. (Office of Strategic Services). Today, this entity is known as the CIA. He was dispatched to what is known as the Burma Campaign, Indo-China. Through an interpreter, with the aid of Chinese Guerilla fighters, known as the "Kachin" Rangers, Arthur Sr. and his platoon would gather Japanese intelligence. The "Kachin" were necessary, as they knew the foreign terrain to be navigated.

Pictured below is the American Legion's Resolution presented after Arthur Sr.'s passing in 1997. A partial quote from the Resolution reads as follows; "...WHILE EVER CHERISHING IN OUR HEARTS THE MEMORY OF DISTINGUISHED SERVICE TO OUR COUNTRY..."

This is Temple Food Mart's 5th Memorial Day in reverence to all the fallen soldiers. Please help make this an even better 5th year at the store. Please Snapchat and Follow & Share on Facebook at Temple Food Mart.

A few weeks ago, Temple Food Mart was not able to make a traditional Mother's Day post. So here it is a little late; MOTHER'S DAY MAPLE & MIMOSAS at Temple Food Mart, located at 121 Baker Street in Manchester. Mimosas, Maple & Honey are just a few gifts to choose. Re-introducing our newest NHMade product is the wonderfully scented organic soaps by "My Sweet Soap." Spinach Pita & Baklava are still selling!

Pictured is a very young store Matriarch, Julienne (Thibodeau) Skiathitis. Later in her life, she was known as Mrs. Maple at a Dunkin Donuts she used to frequently visit. Julienne's Maple Nook will be an everlasting part of Temple Food Mart. Please help make this an even better 5th year. Please Snapchat and Follow & Share on Facebook at Temple Food Mart.

GREEK EASTER is upon us. Even if you're not Greek, you can still experience the taste of classic Spinach Pita and Baklava, still selling at Temple Food Mart on 121 Baker Street in Manchester. Fresh order arrived. This is the 5th Greek Easter since the Reopening of the store back in 2017. Pictured below, is the first generation of the Skiathitis family to arrive in America in the year 1900, Grandfather and Grandmother Skiathitis. 14 years later, the first daughter, Hazel, was born, followed 4 years later by the first son, Arthur Skiathitis, Sr., founder of this local landmark, Temple Food Mart. Finally, is the second son, Charlie. So this places the photo around the Mid-Late 1920's at the home down the road off of Brown Ave. Somewhere in the area, my grandparents operated a Pig Farm. Before Temple Food Mart was built, the original store, "Arthur's Temple Grocery" was in operation in the building that still stands across the street from the store we all know today. Help make this an even greater 5th year. Please Snapchat and Follow & Share on Facebook at Temple Food Mart.

CELEBRATE again! 83 years ago, in 1938, Arthur Skiathitis, Sr. entered into the Grocery Business, naming his original store ARTHUR'S TEMPLE GROCERY. The name changed sometime thereafter to what it is known to be presently. Four years ago today, on Greek Independence Day, TEMPLE FOOD MART re-opened it's doors after a long time-out. I want to thank everyone that has helped slowly bring this venerable store back to its feet. There have been growing pains in re-establishing such an endeavor. There's still a long way to go, but with your continued patronage, the store will grow even more and continue to evolve.

Please come by for some classic Greek Spanikopita (Spinach Pie) and sweet Baklava. So good! New, fresh order arriving. Our Wine selection has exploded and grown, including our super popular MIMOSA bottles and our new Sweet BELLINI bottles, which are selling right here. Craft Beers have taken off since multiple tastings have become a steady part of this new look bodega, so to say. NH Made products will continue to grow as a staple of products to be carried. Gourmet chocolates are here. Our recent arrival from "MY SWEET SOAPS" is pure NH Made, all natural & healthy, scent filled handcrafted soaps. Promotions soon to come.

In this fourth year, Temple Food Mart continued to bring you our new found traditions of an indoor Pumpkin Patch, Trick Or Treat, Christmas Trees, Valentine Roses and several Wine & Craft Beer Tastings. Please say hello if you have not yet come into the store or if it has been some time since your last visit. I ask that you continue to shop here and I will deliver what I can for you. Help make this a greater fifth year. The store is located on 121 Baker Street in Manchester (corner of Calef Road & Baker Street). My sincerest thanks, Mark Skiathitis. Pictured is the founder, and my father, Arthur Skiathitis Sr., from way back when. Please SNAPCHAT and follow & share on Facebook at Temple Food Mart.

This place is a great locally owned store. Owner is friendly and hospitable. Would rather go there than any big 7-11 or Mobile
First time I have been in there in 25 years. Thanks for the walk down memory lane Mark. You have done a great job bringing it back to life. You’re dad would be proud. I would recommend everyone that has memories of temple food to swing by and reminisce.
We lived on Garden street from 1988 to 2003. Always bought scratch tickets. Looks like you have fixed it up, looks awesome, glad to see your still in business. Not many old family stores remaining today
Mike Flanagan in his younger days, ty for your conversation of the old days very inspirational and intriguing
great story thank you 💕
This is my favorite store in Manchester!!!! I usually pop in a couple times a week. I noticed the antiques and Mark (owner) told me all about the history of the place. I won’t spoil the story for the rest of ya, but it’s pretty darn cool! They sell pumpkins, Christmas trees and a bunch of cool locally made products. Great place to go if you’re looking for a simple locally made Christmas present. Plus, probably the best customer service you’ll find around this area 🙂 Happy Holidays!
Hi Mark. It was great meeting you. I absolutely love your store. Looking forward to hearing back about the prices on these! Thanks again!
Thank you for taking the time to speak with me today. I will be visiting your store more often.
Hi Mark, it was great meeting you today and learning about the Temple Food Mart, your Mom and the vision of your father and the courage and service he gave to this country during WWII. Remember the picture I took of the photo of your father standing in front or a car with a woman, in front of his original store? Well, I confirmed it was, in fact, a 1940 Plymouth sedan. I remember you telling me that when your father was serving in Burma, he was making plans to buy the grassy lot across the street to build the store you run today. When I was zooming in on the picture of the car to look at its details – I found the image of the grassy lot… in the reflection of the car’s hubcap. Check it out!
