📢 ATTENTION! For two Sundays ONLY: our Wilshire / La Brea Farmers’ Market is relocating to the Wilshire / Fairfax station!

On Sundays, October 25th and November 1st, take the metro just one stop to find all your favorite vendors!

Schedule:
🍅 Sunday, October 25: Farmers’ Market @ Wilshire/Fairfax Station + Dog Halloween Costume Contest 10am–2pm
🍅 Tuesday, October 27: Farmers’ Market @ Wilshire/Fairfax Station + Dog Halloween Costume Contest 3–7pm
🍅 Sunday, November 1: Farmers’ Market @ Wilshire/Fairfax Station 10am–2pm

Have you ever wondered if the produce sold in CA Certified Farmers’ Markets (CFMs) is actually local? If so you might like to know this:

The CA Department of Ag visits every farm selling in CFMs, and they list every crop, in every variety, that the farmer grows.

They also visit every farmers’ market—regularly—to check that farmers’ are only selling produce they’re “certified” to grow.

If a farmer gets caught selling produce they didn’t grow, they are banned from all markets in the state.

We once saw a farmer get scolded for selling edible weeds! He argued that EVERY organic farm had purslane and lambs quarters between their rows. The agent made him list the weeds on his certification!

CA Certified Farmers’ Market are the real deal. And yes, local matters.

Two new farmers’ markets will be pulling into the station in just two weeks!

Catch them along the D Line:
Wilshire / Fairfax Farmers’ Market is opening on Tuesday, May 12th from 3:30pm - 7:30pm!
Wilshire / La Brea Farmers Market is opening on Sunday, May 17th from 9am - 1pm!

Both will have bright local produce, artisanal food, and live music! 🎷
