IMPORTANT TAXIDERMY UPDATE
We want to provide everyone with an update regarding the outstanding deer heads from previous seasons.
As many of you know, the taxidermist we worked with became very ill. Unfortunately, the severity of his condition was something we were not fully aware of for quite some time. Due to his illness, there was also some confusion regarding what work had and had not been completed.
We are happy to share that we have now been able to pick up the horns and capes that were in his possession. We are currently working to get everything organized and matched with the correct customers. Once we have that completed, we will be reaching out to each person individually. We ask that you please give us a little time to work through everything carefully.
If you have already spoken directly with Amy or Joseph about picking up your horns and cape because you have another taxidermist lined up to complete your mount, you may call the shop to make arrangements for pickup. If you have not already spoken with us about this, we kindly ask that you allow us time to get everything organized and we will contact you.
We also want to address something that has been difficult throughout this situation. We completely understand the frustration of waiting this long, and we know many of you have been looking to us for answers.
While we were the business that accepted the deer heads as a convenience to our customers, the taxidermy work itself was contracted out to a separate taxidermist. We did not perform or control that work. We have spent a great deal of time trying to contact him, get answers, and recover everyone’s items. Eventually, his daughter was able to get in touch with us and help us move forward.
We aren’t sharing this to place blame on anyone. This has been an unfortunate situation involving someone who became seriously ill, and we are thankful that his family has helped us get to this point. At the same time, we want our customers to understand that we have been doing everything within our power to help resolve a situation that we did not create.
Our customers and our reputation mean a great deal to us, which is why we continued pushing for answers until we were finally able to get these items back.
For now, please allow us time to sort through everything. We WILL contact each affected customer as soon as we have their information and items confirmed.
Thank you to everyone who has shown us patience, understanding, and kindness throughout this situation. We truly appreciate it.
