PIE PUMPKIN vs. SWEET MEAT SQUASH!

Come along as we cut into a spooky pie pumpkin and a sweet meat squash for a little taste test!

🎃 Pie Pumpkin: Commonly used for pumpkin pies and pumpkin bread, but we weren’t impressed! The texture was watery and very stringy, the flavor wasn’t our favorite, and there really wasn’t much pumpkin to work with!

💚 Sweet Meat Squash: This one gets a bad rap, but we think it’s seriously underrated! It’s incredibly versatile and makes AMAZING pumpkin pies and breads. A little stringy, but overall much smoother, with a great flavor and WAY more usable squash than the pie pumpkin!
