20 hours. Two days. One very grateful couple.
This week I had the privilege of helping an elderly couple reclaim the yard they once took pride in maintaining themselves.
Over the years, it had simply become too much for them to keep up with. My goal wasn’t just to mow the lawn—it was to bring their property back to life.
Over two full days (about 20 hours) I completed:
🌿 Complete lawn mowing and cleanup
🌿 Extensive hand weeding throughout the property
🌿 Hedge and shrub trimming
🌿 Edging around landscaping and walkways
🌿 Restored and cleaned the rose garden
🌿 Cleaned and refreshed the garden beds
🌿 Cleared weeds from the flagstone patio and paver areas
🌿 Cleaned benches and outdoor sitting areas
🌿 Trimmed around fruit trees and ornamental landscaping
🌿 Cleared overgrown side yards and difficult-to-reach areas
🌿 Hauled away debris and left everything neat and ready to enjoy again
It wasn’t all easy…
At one point I accidentally disturbed a yellow jacket nest hidden beneath an overgrown shrub and got a few painful reminders that landscaping can have its surprises! Thankfully I was able to get everything under control and keep moving.
Seeing the transformation and watching the homeowners smile when they walked outside made every hour worthwhile.
I treat every property like it’s my own—whether it’s a major restoration, home repair, or regular maintenance. Helping people enjoy their homes again is one of the best parts of this job.
