Have you ever cooked with fresh turmeric? It has a warm, earthy, slightly peppery flavor and is wonderful in soups, curries, stir-fries, rice, teas, and golden milk! You can grate or slice it fresh, or dry it and grind it into powder.

✨ Turmeric contains curcumin, a natural compound with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It’s a wonderful addition to a colorful, balanced diet!

The temperatures are dropping FAST, and we’re crossing our fingers that we won’t get frost tonight! 🤞🥶 One hard frost could damage or kill many of our outdoor vegetables, and with next Saturday being the LAST market of the season, we’re really hoping our garden can hang on a little longer.

If you’ve never had jicama before, you’re in for a treat! 😍

🥔 So what is jicama?
Jicama (pronounced HEE-kah-ma) is a round, crunchy root vegetable with thin brown skin and a crisp, juicy white inside. Think of it as a cross between an apple and a water chestnut—mildly sweet, refreshing, and super crunchy! 😋

💚 Why try it?
Jicama is naturally high in fiber, contains vitamin C, and is relatively low in calories. It’s a delicious way to add more vegetables to your meals!

🌱🥕 Fresh Farm Veggies for Tomorrow! 🥕🌱

We’ll be at the market tomorrow with what our garden is able to give us! ❤️

I won’t be bringing as much variety as usual this week. The Missouri heat has been rough on the garden, and the vegetables are really struggling to grow in this extreme weather. 🥵🌞 Some plants have slowed down quite a bit, but thankfully, there are still some goodies out there for us to harvest and share with you!

It’s definitely a challenging time for the garden right now, but we’re doing our best and are grateful for every little harvest. 🌱💚

Thank you SO much to everyone who came out and grabbed our Thai watermelons today! We honestly didn’t expect them to be this popular! 😆🍉

We’re sorry we couldn’t provide enough for all three markets this weekend. 🥹 But seeing how much everyone loved them has definitely motivated us to grow A LOT more next season! 🌱🍉

I know I previously said our sweet Thai watermelons would be available at all three markets this weekend, but we have fewer than expected, so I decided to bring them all to tomorrow’s Neosho market. ❤️

I’m so sorry to anyone who was hoping to find them at our other markets! 🥹

They turned out SO sweet that I really wish we had more to share! 🍉😍

If you’ve been wanting to try one, tomorrow is the day—limited quantities and once they’re gone, they’re gone! 🍉❤️
