Want the best quality flavor out of your wild game? Proper field care makes all the difference! Here are a few quick tips to protect your meat before bringing it to the shop:

1️⃣ Get Core Heat Out Fast: If you're keeping it whole, prop the chest and pelvic cavity wide open with a clean stick to let trapped heat escape. If quartering, split the thick joint areas early to prevent bone sour deep in the muscle.

2️⃣ Keep It Breathing: Airflow is everything. Use quality breathable game bags for quarters, and never wrap warm meat in plastic tarps or bags. If you need to hang it before bringing it in, pick a shaded, well-ventilated spot out of the sun and off the ground.

3️⃣ Keep It Clean: Take an extra 5 minutes to keep dirt, pine needles, and hair off the meat while dressing. A clean, dry crust on the outside protects the good meat underneath until it hits the cutting table.
A clean field-dress job means more meat makes it into your freezer!
