What could have been a peaceful morning video on the farm….

Thanks to Anastasia and her Nubian bloodlines, you get to hear what it’s like to have a very vocal Nubian. It’s in their genetics, all of our Nubians over the years, have been extremely vocal. Why would Anastasia be any different?!?🙃

Get goats, they said…it will be fun!🤣

Since Tito has been getting all of the attention around here, thought I would share what our tiny herd is up to these days! The goats have been clearing the timber area, but they finished that area today, so we moved them to the hillside garden. We’ll let them clear (and fertilize) this area before having them work their way around our yard, before moving them back to the pasture. We let them do fall clean up and one last really good weeding session along the buildings and fence lines before winter hits.

Tito is still going strong! He’s draining bottles (which we have increased in volume because he is gaining weight), he’s still weak, but stands and is starting to travel a bit more during the daytime hours. Here he is draining his morning bottle. Enjoy!

I’m thankful I am still giving Tito updates. Little guy drained his entire bottle this morning, but he did appear to have less balance today (at least compared to yesterday). I’m hopeful it’s just because we woke him up to eat, but the daytime hours will show more. He’s done taking his meds, so now we just need him to continue improving.🫶🏻

Tito’s evening bottle was done solo by myself; so I let him take it while lying down (since I knew I couldn’t support him if he needed it and hold his bottle at the same time). He drained his bottle and to my surprise, as soon as I took the bottle away, he stood up on his own! Go, Tito, Go!

* I didn’t get him standing up on video, but I did snap a cute video while he took his bottle. You can see his feistiness coming out while he was taking it, getting a little aggressive with it…which is awesome to see!

~Tito News~

Little guy is still showing improvements. He will stand once we assist him in getting up, he takes his bottles without hesitation, bodily functions are still happening and appear normal. Keep those good vibes coming for Tito. He’s outside soaking in some sunshine today.

~Saturday morning Tito update~

How can we not fight for this little guy, when he has so much will to live!

At morning bottle feeding, with assistance, he stood on his own and took his bottle without hesitation. He got another shot and although he is still weak, he is showing improvement.

We’ve made a call into the vet for more meds (they had told us IF he improved, to call back for more meds). Heath will be picking up three more doses this afternoon.

We’ll bottle feed Tito some electrolytes at noon and another shot and another bottle this evening. Enjoy a little video of our little man this morning with his buddy, Monster.

Friday night Tito update~

The last two days have been a downward spiral for our little guy. 😢 Today, he went back to the vet. As of right now, they don’t feel he has coccidiosis, as he’s very young for that and not around any other animals that have it, plus his bloody stools aren’t the “typical” coccidiosis scours.

At this point, she feels it’s more neurological and feels he may have some swelling on the brain, which would cause him to be lethargic, balance issues, tilting head, etc. (All of the issues that just surfaced).

So, he received a little haircut and several shots at the vet (steroids, vitamins, antibiotics) and an IV of meds at the vet, too. She sent us home with 3 more doses of meds to give him every 12 hours.

She was honest, and we appreciate that, but he’s at a 50/50 shot of recovering from this. She said we will know quickly, if he’s going to improve or if he’ll keep declining.

Since Momma has shown less interest the last two days, we have moved Tito to a new area, with easier access for us, fresh straw, less draft and his nice warm heat lamp on him to help him stay toasty warm. He is still eating, and drains his bottles quickly now. We just need him to get his balance back and start using his little legs again.

You know what he needs, so send little Tito those good vibes and help him get over this hump. 🫶🏻🙏🏻

Thank you for loving on our little guy as much as we do!
