Did our first farmers market. We started very small tonight compared to what we have. Since this was our first run I wanted to keep it simple. But people were so responsive to our products and happy to hear how clean our food is made. Looking forward to brining more options to the north haven farmers market.

Meet Slim Shady šŸŖæ

Say hello to the newest (and skinniest!) member of the Branded Beak Farm family.

Slim is a Toulouse goose, a gentle, gray heritage breed that originally comes from France and is known for being calm, friendly and usually very round. Slim didnā€™t get the ā€œroundā€ memo yet. šŸ˜„

He came to us last week from Maine with a small group of geese that had been passed around a few times. He arrived thin, a little rough around the edges, and with feathers that donā€™t quite keep him waterproof yet, so right now heā€™s getting the full spa treatment:

šŸ„¬ Good food and all the greens he wants
šŸ› Clean water baths to help him preen and rebuild his waterproof feathers
šŸ” A warm, dry spot to rest and settle in

Heā€™s already learning the farm routine, and we canā€™t wait to watch him fill out into the big, handsome Toulouse heā€™s meant to be.
