Some people see an empty field—we see projects, animals, dreams, and a whole lot of hard work ahead.

🏡🐷 Friday Evening Farm Update 🐷🏡

A lot of progress was made today at Ranchito Bendito!

This morning started with coffee and a plan. By the end of the day, Carnitas has a roof over her head, walls are going up, and her new shelter is really starting to come together.

We’re building it little by little using what we have, repurposing materials whenever possible, and taking it one project at a time. It may not be fancy, but it’s built with a lot of hard work and a lot of love for our animals.

Carnitas has already started checking everything out and making herself at home. 🐽❤️

Thank you to my wife for spending the day out here helping. We got a lot accomplished today!

Now it’s time to feed animals, put away the tools, and enjoy a well-earned evening.

Good morning from Ranchito Bendito! ☀️

We’re at it again this morning. Yesterday we expanded Chich’s area and got the ladies’ side fenced. Today we’re back at it working on the shelter and getting ready for the corrugated tin roof.

I’m thankful for a wife who’s willing to spend her Saturday morning building right alongside me. Farm life isn’t always glamorous, but it’s a lot easier when you’re building it together. ❤️

One board, one fence panel, and one project at a time.

🚜 Farm Life Reality Check 🚜

So today I learned that just because you’re pouring fuel into a tractor doesn’t mean your brain is paying attention. 😅

I somehow put 5 gallons of GASOLINE into my diesel tractor.

Did I realize it while pouring it in? Nope.

Did I realize it when I started driving away? Also nope.

Did I realize it when the tractor died? Still nope.

Instead, I convinced myself I must have squeezed the gas can too hard and somehow got air in the fuel system. 🤦‍♂️

After a lot of Googling, troubleshooting, and scratching my head, I finally read:

“One of the most common causes is adding the wrong fuel.”

And there it was… the moment of realization. 😳

$80 later, half the day gone, a trip for parts and tools, and some great advice from the folks at WildFire in Early, and she’s running again.

The tractor survived.
My pride… not so much. 😂

Just another day at Ranchito Bendito where we’re learning as we go and thanking Jesus when things work out in the end.

Every ranch needs a good watchdog. We ended up with a watch cat. 🐱🐔 Patrick spends his afternoons keeping an eye on the flock… whether he’s protecting them or plotting against them is still under investigation. 😂

This morning started the best way possible — with a hot plate of homemade migas for breakfast and a cup of coffee before heading out to take care of the animals and get our egg deliveries ready.

🐔☕ Good Morning from RB Farm Eggs – Ranchito Bendito! 🥚

As I sip my coffee and make my morning rounds, here’s a fun chicken fact for today:

Did you know that hens are actually born with all the eggs they will ever lay? A chick hatches with thousands of tiny ova already inside her. Over her lifetime, only a portion of those will develop into the farm-fresh eggs we collect each day.

It’s one of those things that reminds me how amazing God’s creation really is.

This morning we’re checking feed, water, collecting eggs, and taking care of everyone before the Texas heat settles in. Farm life may be busy, but there’s always something new to learn.

And on a personal note, today is a little special—it’s the day before my birthday! 🎉 Another trip around the sun, another day being thankful for family, friends, customers, and all the animals that keep us busy.

☕🐔 Monday Morning at Ranchito Bendito

What a great weekend it was!

We got to spend time with family from all over Texas, California, and even Mexico—all together in one awesome gathering. Sometimes life gets busy and we forget just how big our families really are until everyone is in one place making memories.

Now it’s back to the routine. The coffee is hot, the animals are waiting on breakfast, and the chores aren’t going to do themselves. We’re feeling thankful this morning for family, safe travels, and another week ahead.

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend too. Time to take care of everybody—two-legged and four-legged! ☕🐓🐐🐖
