Sponsored by the Lebanon Recreation Commission, the Lebanon Summer Theatre Camp is a seasonal children’s community theatre organization which offers the opportunity for both novice and experienced thespians to learn about acting, practice skills, and eventually perform in a stress-free, educational environment. For five total summers, we have mentored eager groups of middle school students and dir

ected five staged readings of self-written one-act plays. At the beginning of the week, each camper is assigned a role in the cast and we begin the rehearsal process for the brand-new play. Through this process, the campers obtain a hands-on, interactive experience in which they learn the fundamentals of acting (e.g., script-reading, blocking, rehearsing, and stage performance) in addition to important theatrical concepts (e.g., objective, obstacle, subtext, and interior monologue). We also partake in entertaining activities such as improvisation games, humorous skits, and fun learning exercises. All campers are welcome, from the theatrically inexperienced to the theatrically accomplished.
