This is Anton as a baby with his mom (Sandy) who passed away a little over two years ago. She would’ve turned 81 today. Happy heavenly birthday to the most compassionate, selfless human I’ve ever known. I know she would be so proud of Anton and the life he is living!

Anton’s father grew up in Sand am Main, a small town in Germany. This photo was taken on their family farm. Fast forward to few weeks ago, a customer saw Anton Magdalener listed as the owner of Sandy Oaks and asked what part of Germany his family came from. She grew up there too, knew his father’s family, and remembered the names of his aunts and uncles. Talk about a small world!

Another cool fall day! Some beautiful fall bouquets from Collie Flower Farm! The last berries of the season are here, as we transition to fall. Lots of pumpkins and gourds, plus fresh sourdough from Rise & Flourish Bread Co. Freezer is also stocked with meat from Arnold's Farm, soups from Bushel & Peck's Local Market, and bagels from The Sassy Bagel . Open today 10-2, Tuesday 4-7, and Thursday 10-2.

Baby chickie update! Baby is doing good, she's got most of her wing feathers already! Here she is enjoying a drink with Mama. I read recently that chickens drink like they're at a w**e tasting and now that's all I see. Do you agree?
