Here are a few ways to support your Chatham micro grocery co-op! Goes without saying, becoming an owner or sharing the gift of ownership is a great way to get involved.

There are endless other ways to partner. Ms. P's Gluten-Free Granola is coming back to Southside Market (433 E 79th) tomorrow for some delicious free samples. Great excuse to swing by the store for some coffee and groceries!

Seniors, come by any Friday morning for a free drip coffee with purchase.

And calling all member owners, save the date for Oct 3rd (adjusted date from previous post) for a fun members mingle. There will be owner exclusive tastings and opportunities for networking with fellow investors.

Southside Market & Café Cooperative is looking for friendly, dependable part-time team members to help keep our neighborhood grocery and café welcoming, stocked, and running smoothly. This is a great opportunity for a retiree, college student, or community member looking for meaningful part-time work.

📍 433 E. 79th Street
⏰ 8–20 hours/week: Flexible. Morning, afternoon, or weekend shifts available
💵 Starting at $15/hour

You’ll help us:
☕ Prepare coffee, tea and specialty drinks
🥪 Serve sandwiches and light café items
🛒 Support customers and grocery operations
💳 Operate our point-of-sale system
📦 Stock and organize products
❤️ Create the clean and welcoming, community-first experience

Benefits include:

🌞 A little end-of-summer reset!

We’re giving our Southside Market team a chance to recharge, so we’ll be closed the next two Sundays. Thank you for giving our team the space to rest & reset before we head into the next season.

Starting Labor Day week, we’re also moving to a new Tuesday–Saturday schedule, shaped by what you told us in our Owners Survey and what we’re seeing in shopper habits.

We’ll be returning to an 8 AM opening while continuing to explore what hours work best for our community. And yes… we’re listening for those OPEN LATE requests! 👀🌙 We’ll be exploring extended evening hours in the coming months.
