Thank you to Sister in Bloom for hosting our final harvest gathering of the year to celebrate the Hmong New Year and for inviting the talented photographer, Mai Vab, to capture these moments. As farmers, it is rare that we step away from the fields, dress up, and see ourselves through a gentler, more beautiful lens.
This photograph is more than an image—it is a reminder that beneath the sun, the soil, and the seasons that age us a little faster, there is still a version of me that is young, radiant, and full of life. I am grateful to have something so precious to look back on, a small testament to the beauty that exists within the hard work we do.
