We don’t have a swap or market planned for this weekend, but Appomatox and Rocky Mount both have one scheduled 5/30 if you need somewhere to go! 👏🏻

We started our markets for two reasons: we saw a need for more accessible markets to farmers, and we saw a need for a welcoming, inclusive environment for the community.

Unfortunately, the poultry world especially tends to be *exclusive* and dependent on who you know. It is heartbreaking that some of the community in the area is exclusionary and unprofessional, but that is the reality.

We do our best to include other communities, from promoting other events to attending them and encouraging others to join in. We also carefully schedule our events to not be on other communities’ events nearby. We have even realized we accidentally overlapped other events and rescheduled our own out of respect for those hosts.

All this to say, we hope to be the change we want to see. We can all coexist as one larger community, and we can all thrive. Agriculture is not about competition, but community and supporting one another. ALL are welcome at our events (so long as laws and regulations are followed.) 💜

5/17 Cancellation @ Long’s!

After careful consideration, we have decided to REMOVE Long’s Farm Supply in Brookneal, VA from our schedule. There have been multiple unintentional event overlaps we had tried our best to avoid when making our schedule, and while we absolutely still support the store itself, we have decided it isn’t as feasible as we hoped given our travel times.

We encourage you to join Lanning Family Farm LLC and Wildflower Homestead at the Forest TSC Swap, as vendors - tomorrow, Sunday 5/17 9-1!!

If anyone would like to continue the work of organizing at Long’s, please feel free to reach out. We plan to add more market dates to Blairs TSC and possibly other locations, so be on the lookout. We appreciate everyone’s support and understanding! 💜
