Canton’s Bella Dolci LLC Acquires Cupcakelicious in
Downtown Woodstock
December 23, 2013 – Effective January 1, 2014, the business of Cupcakelicious LLC at 8654 Main Street in downtown Woodstock, Georgia will be acquired by Bella Dolci LLC. Closing on the sale took place today at the popular two-year-old independent cupcakery.
Bella Dolci LLC was created in mid-2013 by Canton-area resident Toni Tortorici as a home-based business providing premium chocolate specialty products to selected retail customers. Cupcakelicious was an early wholesale customer of Bella Dolci’s. Toward year’s end, the fledging chocolate products maker decided to relocate its own production and marketing facilities to a retail location. It was then that Tortorici and Cupcakelicious owner Lee Staten quickly came to terms.
“I wanted to turn my business over to new owners who would love and grow Cupcakelicious as we did, taking it to even greater levels of success in downtown Woodstock, and Toni Tortorici and Bella Dolci are the perfect combination to make that happen,” said Staten whose business received My Woodstock 2013 awards in an unprecedented three categories - Best Dessert, Best Bakery, and Best Treat for Occasions.
“We plan to build on the wonderful beginnings that Lee and her team were able to engender. We won’t change the name or the primary product base. However, after a short transition period, we will be doing some remodeling and adding more Bella Dolci and other sweet shop, bakery and ice cream products and flavors to the quality offerings already there,” said Tortorici, “and we certainly plan to keep and expand our party business for all the little princes and princesses in the area.”
Before she created Bella Dolci LLC, Tortorici was with Hallmark Marketing Co. as an area merchandising manager for ten years. Prior to that, she and her husband, Tony, owned Gerber’s Ice Cream Store in Dunwoody, Georgia. Mr. Tortorici is a former Vice President of Public Relations for The Coca-Cola Company and currently operates Tortorici & Randolph, a public relations and marketing firm based in Canton.
