SUBJECT: OFFICIAL NOTIFICATION OF POSTPONEMENT AND RESCHEDULING OF THE ALIAN VS. GOL WRESTLING MATCH

Dear Community Members and Wrestling Enthusiasts,

I am writing to you today in my official capacity as the Chairman of the Alian Wrestling Association-Bor. It is with a heavy heart that we issue this notice regarding the highly anticipated wrestling contest between the Alian Community and the Gol Community.

1. Notice of Postponement

The wrestling match originally scheduled to take place on Saturday, 24th October 2026, has been officially postPONED.

This difficult decision has been made out of respect and deep reverence as our community is currently mourning the tragic loss of our beloved wrestling icon, Alijo Nhial (Aliajiou Nhial Akuocjok). As a legendary figure who united our people through the sport, it is only fitting that we halt our athletic celebrations during this profound period of grief.

2. New Rescheduled Details

We are committed to honoring our commitments to the sport and the Gol community. Therefore, the main event and full tournament have been rescheduled to a future timeline. Please note the official details for the rescheduled event:

• Main Bout: Reech Akuok (popularly known as Ajong-magok) from Alian vs. Nyok Dhieu from Gol.

• Total Competitors: 15 wrestlers representing each side (30 wrestlers in total).

• New Date: 7th November 2026.

• Time: 7:00 AM sharp

• Venue: Karaba Playing Ground, Bor

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Gol Community leaders, our sponsors, media houses, and the energetic fans for their understanding, patience, and shared condolences during this trying time.

Let us stand together in solidarity as we honor the memory of the late Alijo Nhial, and look forward to a peaceful, competitive, and unifying tournament next month.

Sincerely,

Manyok Chiek Thiak
Chairman, Alian Wrestling Association-Bor
South Sudan
