Did you know today’s 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗢𝗰𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆 and tomorrow’s 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆?

The Coral Triangle is an area in the world where 6 countries home 76% of the world’s coral reef species. There’s Malaysia, the Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste, Indonesia, and the Philippines is the epicenter of this spit, making us one of the most marine biodiverse countries on Earth.

Our partner fisherfolk of Lubang Island, Occidental Mindoro, is at the heart of this region, by the passage with the highest concentration of marine species, nicknamed “the Amazon of the Ocean”: The La Verde Island Passage. It harbors 60% of the world’s marine species, with a staggering 1,736 of them overlapping per 10 square kilometer area.

Truly sustainable dining starts by protecting these precise ecosystems and supporting small-scale fishers who safeguard them.

It’s the largest marine protected area in the Philippines, and it homes 18,000 hectares of coral reefs and 5,000 hectares of mangroves!
