Ex-Rep. Arnie Teves, inaresto ng mga awtoridad sa Timor-Leste, ayon sa DOJ

Kinumpirma ng Department of Justice (DOJ) na dinakip ng mga awtoridad ng Timor-Leste si dating Negros Oriental Representative Arnolfo “Arnie” Teves Jr., habang naglalaro ng golf. Si Teves ang itinuturong utak umano sa masaker sa Negros Oriental noong Marso 2023 na ikinasawi ng 10 katao, kabilang ang gobernador na si Roel Degamo.
Sa pahayag ng DOJ na naka-post sa page ng Presidential Communication Office, sinabing dinakip si Teves sa Dili East Timor dakong 4:00 pm nitong Huwebes habang naglalaro ng golf.
"Today's apprehension of Teves is a testament to the power of international cooperation. It sends a clear message that no terrorist can evade justice and that nations stand united in safeguarding the safety and security of their citizens,” pahayag ni DOJ Secretary Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla.
Nakikipag-ugnayan na umano ang mga awtoridad ng Pilipinas sa mga awtoridad ng East Timor para maibalik sa bansa si Teves.
“Face your long-delayed trial without setting any conditions, face the courts squarely,” sabi ni Remulla sa dating kongresista.
