Pretty epic considering the season only lasts 5 weeks but thanks to less rain, we saw a high pick-out rate and plenty of quality fruit made it into our boxes - yay 😍

It’s Wonky to the rescue with these Baby Broccoli’s that almost didn’t make it for being too big for supermarket shelves 🥦

When we heard the news they were destined to turn into flowers, we quickly helped out our growers and gave them a home. So South Islander’s get ready for the tender stems coming your way this week!

Ever seen kiwifruit come in odd looking twin sets? 👀

They’re called ‘fans’ or ‘twins’ and it’s when the kiwi’s are fused together when the fruit is damaged during development.

Lucky for these little guys, we’ve teamed up to rescue a big batch of green kiwifruit oddballs as well as the ‘too small’ that don’t meet export sizing standards! 🥝🥝

The numbers are in and with your help we rescued 22,832.00KGS of stonefruit from growers in Otago as well as the Hawkes Bay. That’s huge 🤯

This season saw heavy rainfall as well as alot less sunshine, making things hard for growing picture-perfect crop but luckily the fruit tasted just as juicy and sweet as they should! 🍑

From peacharines to black diamond plums, you’ve helped us reduce food waste and support local growers so a big thank you to our Wonky community - you guys are the best! 🫶

Recognise these…. 👀

We recently visited one our long-standing feijoa growers and got the run down on how the grading process works!

Turns out the fruit has been slightly smaller due to the temps and lack of rainfall this growing season so instead of letting them go to waste we’ve rescued a bunch as well as the scarred, the surplus, and the ones with surface markings 💚

🍐 Pear season has well and truly kicked off and we’ve teamed up with our growers to help rescue the Piqa Pears that aren’t red enough for the export market colour specs!

Piqa’s are a premium variety, designed here in NZ and are usually seen exported to Asia who prefer deep red-skinned fruit.

This means perfectly good pears get left behind but we think they are pear-fect just the way they are and we think you will too ❤️❤️

❤️ RED KIWIFRUIT ❤️ are back for a hot minute and are coming to your boxes this week in all their sweet glory!!

Some might be ‘too small’ or ‘too scarred’ for main retailers but we think they’re perfect just the way they are and we’re sure you guys will agree 🥰

PLUS this distinct red variety are only around for a month out of the year so get em’ while you can and let us know what you think!

Introducing the most unrated Autumn Bircher Muesli 🥣A low waste & healthy make-ahead breakfast or snack to have on the go for those busy days

All you need:
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp pumpkin seeds
1 tbsp raisins
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup apple grated
150ml milk
1 tbsp yogurt

Combine and store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days 😇

Looks like a chilli, tastes like a sweet capsicum… it’s a King Sweetie 🌶️

You may have noticed these in your boxes recently despite their pointed shape, they’re 100% capsicum! We’ve teamed up with growers in Pukekohe to rescue the curly, smaller, and slightly off colour one’s that are being left behind by regular retailers.

Don’t miss out and try them raw with hummus, stuffed and roasted, or sliced into stir-fries for a pop of colour and sweetness 🤌
