A man, Mas’ud Yusuf, who resides at Dei-Dei market, was arraigned before an Abuja magistrates’ court sitting in Jiwa for causing grievous hurt and assault on his female friend contrary to sections 247 and 265 of the Penal Code.

Earlier,the prosecuting counsel, J. N. Atinko, told the court that a woman,Fatima Muhammad Lawal,reported at the “A” police division in Dei-Dei on January 11,accusing the man of cutting off one of her fingers,and injuring her on another when she tried to protect her neck which the convict had aimed at with a cutlass.

He said based on the woman’s statement, the man took the action out of annoyance after he found her with one of his friends in a room.

Yusuf admitted committing the crime but begged the court for leniency.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested by the Police for allegedly killing his girlfriend’s 10-year-old sister for ritual purposes in Delta state.

The suspect had informed his girlfriend of his intention,but she declined and failed to report him.

Police and relatives exhumed the body of 10-year-old Jessica in Ethiope East Council area of Delta State.

Miss Jessica was a triplet and her elder sister is the girlfriend of the 20-year-old suspect accused of committing this heinous crime.

The suspect confessed to the crime after being almost lynched by angry mob.

The suspect claimed he was hired by someone to carry out the act in exchange for 600,000 naira.

This young folks can do anything for,parents as a matter of urgency must do what necessary to protect their children,it's getting too much.

Just imagine the things that were discovered from the church premises of two fake pastors who were detained and paraded by the police for allegedly practicing fe**sh rites in Rivers State.

The police discovered a live cartridge,a sword, two wooden coffins,two native pots,a false navy passport,and a slip with the national identity number of a guy named Emmanuel Henry, who is believed to have been robbed by the suspect.In addition,a horn,hundreds of images of individuals and passport-sized pictures,a navy beret,and bottles carrying mysterious substances were found.

The story goes like this,"his father believed he had lost his son,suffering the pain of that loss alone.

However,unknowingly to him,the son was very much alive and working tirelessly to build a home for his father.

Three robbers,Aminu Muhammad,aged 28 years;Abubakar Aminu,aged 24 years and Mujahid Muhammad,aged 23 years,were arrested by a team of detectives from the command.

It was gathered that they were arrested based on information received from a Good Samaritan which indicated that the three robbers blocked Magwan Road in the Kano metropolis,attacking residents and dispossessing them of their valuables.

The detectives were said to have raced to the place and the three robbers were arrested while three sharp knives and a stolen phone were recovered from them.

An angry man sets his wife ablaze in Anambra.

Mrs.Nwaka returned home from an outing, Obiozor the husband got enraged by suspicions regarding his wife’s fidelity,and confronted her.

An anonymous source recounted,“The man’s wife had returned home after the day’s outing with her supposedly ‘secret lover’ when the angry husband confronted her.”The altercation intensified,leading to a horrific outcome when Obiozor poured petrol on Mrs.Nwaka and ignited the flames.

Child trafficking syndicate involved in the illegal sale of children have been arrested in the western part of Nigeria.

The suspects were found in possession of 14 babies and toddlers who had been stolen from various locations in Akure, Ondo State, and Ilesa, Osun State.

The children,who ranged in age from three weeks to two months old,were recovered from Mrs.Izuorah.She is alleged to have run an orphanage in Ihiala,Anambra State,where the stolen children were brought for further trafficking.The discovery has raised serious concerns over the illegal trade of children across state lines in Nigeria.

In statements to the police,the suspects revealed that the stolen children were sold for N500,000 each,with Izuorah acting as a primary receiver of the children.Izuorah,a former Director in the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs in Anambra State,reportedly paid Lukman Isiaka the agreed sum of N500,000 for each child.She then sold the children to other buyers for N1 million or more.

Isiaka admitted to his role in the syndicate, claiming he had been involved in child theft since 2023. He stated that he had delivered a total of 11 children to Izuorah during this period.Olanipekun,another member of the group,has not provided further details about her involvement in the operation,but the police have placed her in custody for questioning.
