My aunt of 43 years, who was already twice divorced, got married again last month.

She had the wedding then and sent invitations to every family member except me.

I think she didn't send me an invitation because I was always calling out her bullshīt to her face. She was known to be rude, and I never hesitated to tell her that.

I refused to attend the wedding when I learned I was the only one who didn't get an invite.

We had a family meeting yesterday, and during it, my aunt's wedding was brought up.

People started congratulating her again and reminiscing about the celebration.

Suddenly, one of my uncles turned and said to me, "Bia, Desmond, why didn't I see you at the wedding, eh?"

"I didn't know there was one; I didn't get any invitation," I said.

My aunt overheard this and interjected, "Yes, I didn't send him an invitation oo."

"Why na?" my uncle asked.

"The invitation cards finished ooo," my aunt said.

Then she turned to me with a smile. "Desmond, I hope you're not angry because you couldn't come to my wedding?"

"It's okay," I said. "I'll go to your next one."
