Have you eaten this species of green(Nigerian spinach)? I used to uproot this green in my garden as a w**d before my MIL made me start cooking with it. It does not melt like the other species when cooking with it. And I don't think there is any difference in taste.

The first time I went to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) was to write post-utme, and I made sure I ate the almighty OKPA. My senior cousins then would always tell us how the almighty Okpa was their saviour in school. I came, I ate, and I was filled and fulfilled.

I came back to Lagos, and ate Okpa but couldn't get the actual okpa taste, when I complained to a friend of mine about the taste, she said most people that cook okpa mixed it with other flours 😳😳😳, since then I lost appetite for it except when I travel to the east.
