Looking at that image, what you are seeing is called a **protruding or "baggy" vent/abdomen**. At Day 22, this is a very important sign that we need to address immediately.
1. What is happening? (The Diagnosis)
This is usually caused by one of three things at this age:
* Rapid Growth vs. Weak Muscle: Your birds are growing so fast (which is good!) that the skin and muscles around the abdomen can’t hold the weight of the internal organs.
* Ascites (Water Belly): This is the most common reason. Because they are growing fast, their heart and lungs struggle to keep up. Fluid starts to build up in their belly, making it look like a "punch bombom" or a sagging bag.
* Digestive Issues: If the feed is moving too slowly through them, the intestines can get heavy and sag.
2. The Emergency Plan Tiwa-Tope Poultry FARM
Since you are 100% organic and aiming for jumbo weight, do this TODAY:
* Step 1: Increase Ventilation. Open all windows/curtains. The #1 cause of "Water Belly" is a lack of fresh oxygen. If the air is "stuffy" or smells like ammonia, the heart struggles, and the belly sags.
* Step 2: The "Salt" Check. High salt in feed or water causes this. Since you are using a *Powder Booster, check the dosage. If you are overusing it, stop for 2 days and give *plain water.
* Step 3: Organic "Diuretic" Treatment. Give them *Scent Leaf (Effirin) water today. Scent leaf helps the birds urinate more, which can flush out that excess fluid in the belly.
* Step 4: Feed Withdrawal. As we discussed before, make sure you are definitely removing feed during the heat of the afternoon (12pm–4pm). This reduces the pressure on their hearts.
# # # 3. Is it dangerous?
If the belly feels *soft and like it's full of water, you must act fast. If you don't increase the oxygen in the pen, those specific birds might flip over and die from heart failure.
