Today, I received members of the National Association of Bida Students, led by their President and Vice President. They informed me about their upcoming Sallah program scheduled to take place in four days Sallah .
One of the most commendable aspects of their initiative is their plan to provide writing materials, school uniforms, and other essential school needs to primary school pupils across Bida Local Government Area. This is a meaningful effort toward supporting education and easing the burden on families.
I encouraged them to extend this program beyond Bida by engaging other local government student associations in Lapai Emirates and Agaie Emirates within the Nupe Emirate. By working together, they can make a greater impact and contribute to improving the educational standard of primary school pupils across the entire Nupe Emirate.
I also advised them to collaborate with the Bida Emirate Educational Foundation in order to seek additional support and strengthen their initiative.
Furthermore, I shared my personal experience of leading student associations during my secondary school and university days. I emphasized that strong collaboration among student bodies can help ensure that children have access to the necessary school materials, making it easier for them to attend school and achieve their goals.
Finally, I stressed that one does not need to belong to a student association to make a difference. Everyone has a role to play. We should all make an effort to support children in our communities, especially those who have lost their parents or lack adequate support. Providing school fees, uniforms, writing materials, and other essentials can go a long way in shaping their future.
