I thought I was ready for this life—until I started waking up before my alarm. Abuja hustle no be anybody mate!
For the past three days, I’ve been waking up early—like “cock never even crow” early—to prepare for a training in town. My alarm rings, and I question my life choices for a solid five minutes before reality resets me. I rush out to join the Coaster bus because, as we all know, Abuja transportation no get joy.
Then comes the great congestion from Mararaba to Abacha barracks /Aya. At this point, I seriously suspect that 80% of Abuja workers are coming from Nasarawa because the kind of traffic wey dey this axis no be small.
If you no leave house before 7 AM, just accept your fate latecomer award dey wait you.
After battling road stress and people who believe bus seats should be fought for like WWE belts, I finally reach my training by 9 AM, sit through lectures till 5 PM, then face rush hour reloaded. By the time I reach house, it’s already 6:30 or 7 PM, and my body is shouting, “Madam, abeg, no stress me again, I wan off.”
Now, here’s where my confusion starts: How do 9-5 people cope??
I mean, some people go to work, run a side business, AND still have family to take care of. Please, how?? 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
Because me, after all this wahala, I just want to bath and sleep. Food? Who get strength to chop? But then, I remember that if I don’t eat, hunger will wake me up at 2 AM to remind me of my sins.😂
The funny part? I’ve been praying for a 9-5 job so I can save more for my business. But now that I’ve had a small taste of the stress, I’m asking God, “Baba, na this kind shege my eyes go dey see?”🤔🤔
To all 9-5 workers running a side hustle from scratch, I throway salute! 🫡🫡
Na una be the real MVPs… How una dey do am? Biko Drop your survival tips, abeg🙏🙏🙏because I need mentorship before I officially sign up for this wahala.
