A man in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has cried out after claiming that authorities are trying to stop him from adopting a baby girl he helped rescue.
Mr. Okorom Ifeanyi said he was among the people who discovered the newborn abandoned inside a sack in a bush. According to him, he immediately went to the nearest police station to officially report the incident. However, he alleged that the officers did not request that the baby be handed over to them at that time.
He explained that he and his wife decided to step in and care for the child. They rushed her to the hospital, where she was placed in an incubator for three days and later on oxygen for two days. He said he covered the medical expenses and ensured the baby survived.
After the child’s condition stabilized, the couple began making moves to adopt her legally. But to their surprise, they were reportedly told that the baby now belongs to the government and cannot be adopted by them.
Expressing his frustration, Mr. Ifeanyi said they acted out of compassion, reported the case properly, and took responsibility for the baby’s treatment — only to be informed later that they have no right to adopt her because she is considered a government child.

Hy Family I want to tell us a story.

Something ago, there lived these two desperate Trying To Convince (TTC) mums who went in search of a solution to their predicament. When they got to the place where they were to get a solution to their problem of childlessness, the Baba in charge told them that they have a solution to their problem but it comes with a condition and sacrifice.

In desperation and desire to have a child, the women promise to do anything it takes to be called a mother. The Baba smiles and says that okay.

He went further to say, if you must have a child, be ready to run mad for the rest of your life, and he told the women to go home and reflect on what he told them and make their choice.

Immediately, one of the women told the Baba that she doesn't need to go and come back, that she is ready to do anything to be called a mother including running mad. While the other woman told the Baba that she isn't ready yet, that she will go home and come back when she is ready.

Days turned to weeks, weeks to months, after nine months the woman who was ready, convinced and gave birth to twins, before five years time she already had four children and the other woman that she embarked on the journey with was carefully observing her in dismay and confusion and yet she couldn't understand a thing.

The other TTC woman ran back to the Baba and said " Baba I have been watching and observing my co.wife for the past five years since we last visited this place, she now have four good healthy and beautiful children, but she isn't mad either is she behaving abnormal".

The Baba smiled and say, who told you, haven't you noticed that, ever since she gave birth those children she has been talking too much, shouting too much, being unusually busy, she don't behave or dress the way she do before now, that's another level of madness.

The woman fell on the ground and cried out with a loud voice telling the Baba that she is ready to run mad in order to be able to carry her own children, but then the Baba replied and said" It's too late woman ".

Early this morning on my way to work, I border a tricycle with two other guys inside the same tricycle (Keke). One of the guys was on call, and the call he was making drew my attention to him because of the huge amount of money he was mentioning.

From my observation it seems he just hit a jackpot and he was heading to the bank. All of a sudden he turned to his brother or friend and said to him, "Why are you wearing this kind of cloth? It's old and it's not looking nice on you. Then the brother replied , is it today that you noticed me wearing these clothes? Abeg guy you dey embarrass me he replied" The other guy apologised and told his brother, let us stop here so that you can buy a new cloth before we continue, they alighted from the keke.

After the short drama inside the keke something dropped in my mind which is, sometimes the people around us that we feel that they don't really care about us do care, but because they don't have the financial capacity to help us at that moment they will rather look away then to bother themselves with things they don't have the solution to.

My prayer for everyone of us is that God will Bless us so that we can turn to be a blessing to people around us.
