- ငလျင်ဒဏ်ကြောင့် ကွဲအက်နေသော မြေကြီးပေါ်မှာ သစ်ပင်ကြီးတစ်ပင်ကတော့ မတ်မတ်ရပ်နေလျှက် အရွက်တစ်ချို့ပြို၊ ကိုင်းတစ်ချို့ကျိုးသော်လည်း အမြစ်တွေက မြေနက်ထဲမှာ ခိုင်မြဲစွာ တွယ်ကပ်နေဆဲ။

- ရွာသားတွေက ဒီသစ်ပင်ကို ဒါက "အသက်ရှင်သော ကျောက်တိုင်" ပဲလို့ ခေါ်လိုက်ကြတော့တယ်။

- ရွာအလယ်က ရေတွင်းဟောင်းကြီးဘေးမှာ မှုန်ဝါနေသော ပန်းပွင့်လေးတချို့ကို မြေငလျင်က မထိခိုက်စေခဲ့သော်လည်း အဘွားအိုတစ်ယောက်က ပန်းလေးတွေကို ကြည့်ပြီး ။ "ကြည့်ပါလား... ဘယ်လောက်ပျက်စီးပျက်စီး၊ ဘဝက ပြန်ပေါက်တတ်တယ်" လို့ သူမက တသသ ပြောလိုက်တယ်။

- ညအချိန် မီးအိမ်မှိန်းရိပ်ထဲမှာ လူငယ်တစ်စုက ပြိုလဲသွားတဲ့ ရွာကျောင်းဟောင်းရဲ့ နံရံတွေကို ခွာချလိုက်ပြီး သူတို့ရဲ့မျက်လုံးတွေထဲမှာတော့ ဝမ်းနည်းမှုကို အထင်းသား​မြင်နေရတယ်...

- သူတို့ကြားထဲက စကားသံတစ်ခု ကြွေးကြော်လာတယ်— "ဒီနေရာမှာ ကျောင်းအသစ်တစ်ခု ဆောက်မယ်။ ပျောက်ဆုံးသွားသူတိုင်းရဲ့ အိပ်မက်တွေကို သယ်ဆောင်မယ့် ကျောင်း။" ဟု ပြတ်သားစွာထွက်လာတယ်။

- ထိုအချိန်မှာပဲ ထပ်မံ လေကြီးမိုးကြီးတွေကျလာခဲ့တယ် ဖုန့်မှုန့်ကင်းကာ မြေကြီးကိုစိုစွတ်စေပေမယ့်လဲ ''သြော် များလိုက်တဲ့မိုးဟု'' တစ်ဦးတစ်ယောက်ချင်းစီတိုင်း တွေးလိုက်မိကြမယ်ဆိုတာ ငြင်းရက်စရာမရှိလောက်အောင်ပါပဲ။

- သို့သော်လည်း ဒီမျက်ရည်တွေထဲမှာ ဝမ်းနည်းမှုထက် မျှော်လင့်ချက်ကဆိုးရွားစွာ ပျောက်ဆုံးနေခဲ့တယ် ။ အခုတော့ သစ်ပင်ကြီးရဲ့အောက်မှာ ရွာသားအားလုံး စုဝေးကြတယ်။ သူတို့ရဲ့လက်ထဲမှာ မီးအိမ်လေးတွေ၊ ပေါက်တူး၊ ဂေါ်ပြားတွေနဲ့ပေါ့။

- မီးအိမ်တွေရဲ့အလင်းက ရွာကိုဖုံးနေတဲ့ အမှောင်ကို တစ်စစီ ဖြိုခွင်းလိုက်တယ်။

- "ငလျင်က မြေကြီးကို ကွဲစေနိုင်ပေမယ့်၊ လူသားတွေရဲ့ စည်းလုံးမှုကိုတော့ မကွဲစေနိုင်ပါဘူး။
