We suppliers also constantly learn from our clients or dear farmers.Brooding is usually cumbersome or expensive to most small scale farmers especially the part of heat supply I learned that most small scale farmers, those who brood 100 chicks and below rarely use heat lumps, pots or jikos. This is what they told me they do.First week of brooding they put chicks outside during the day then in the evening they put them in a box ,either wooden or the normal ones. The boxes must have holes at the top and something warm at the bottom, either a fluffy carpet or blanket, they then cover it with something warm at the top.For those who are unable to put the chicks outside during the day they use hot or warm water in plastic bottles.Week 2 and 3, they just stay indoors but same warm boxes during the night. week 4 zishamea mabawa ziko sawa kukaa hivo tu.I too tried their method with 100 chicks coz I couldn't believe it ,I had 5 boxes at night I could devide the flock into 20 per each box ,imagine no chick died..if you perchase 100 chicks as day olds at 10,000 instead of a month old at 280,na ujipange hivo umesave a cool 18k..in just 3 weeks...kwa wale wa chicks 10,20 we have no minimum order Quantity, day olds will be available this weekend,na wale hawana hiyo time pia tuko na two weeks and 3 weeks old
