A TRUTH MANY DON'T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT FARMING.

Starting small doesn't always guarantee success.

A lot has been said about "Start small, grow big." Well, in farming, you might start small and remain small forever!

From experience, I've learned one important lesson: Make sure your small is profitable!

Many people are starting small and leaving farming while still small because their small ventures never made any profit.

If you're farming to learn, starting small is perfectly okay. But if you're farming as a business, treat it like any other business. Do your calculations, understand your market, and make sure the numbers make sense.

There's no glory in farming for five years only to discover you've been financing your customers with your own money.

Start small if you must, but start profitably.

And one more thing: Avoid taking loans to start farming, especially when you're still learning the business. Farming can humble you faster than you think!

Being a fruit seedlings propagator is an expensive hobby sometimes!

Anywhere I spot fruits, I must stop and buy a few varieties for myself, the chief's daughter or my hardworking team.

Yesterday, after leaving the airport past midnight, I made another stop to buy blueberries, kiwi,blackberries, pears and some yoghurt with pear pieces inside.

At this rate, I think I spend more money on fruits and boiled eggs than I save.

The interesting part is that I have plants of all these fruit varieties on my farm, and when they're in season, I enjoy eating my own harvest.

The sweetest part is that,I also sell these seedlings at very affordable prices.

As promised, I've shown you the entire process of preparing your fruit seedlings for export.

After over 20 hours of preparation, I finally arrived at the airport at midnight.

Today, I celebrate Mashujaa Day by celebrating a hero who refused to give up: me.

Not because I have achieved everything, but because I kept going through the sleepless nights, challenges, disappointments, and sacrifices. I also celebrate my hardworking team, who stood with me and helped turn this dream into reality.

After more than 20 hours of preparing thousands of fruit seedlings for export to West Africa, we finally delivered them to the airport. I arrived home exhausted,but with a heart full of joy.

It’s worth it.

Building something from scratch is not easy. It demands sacrifice, discipline, and the courage to keep moving when the journey gets tough.

Who would have imagined that a villager from Mchoka Bure, on the slopes of Mt. Kenya, would one day export thousands of fruit seedlings across Africa?

I am Ken the Farmer, and I was born for this.

20+ HOURS ON THE JOB, AND WE ARE STILL PUSHING.

It's been over 20 hours of nonstop work preparing thousands of fruit seedlings for export to West Africa.

We are now finalizing the packaging, and in a few hours, I'll be heading to the airport to make sure these seedlings begin their journey safely.

I'm extremely tired, my body is asking for sleep, but my dreams are asking for more effort.

Luckily, I have a habit of boiling meat with some traditional herbs. That's where I get the energy to keep moving when my body wants to surrender.

Tonight, I'll make sure I update you from the airport.

Behind every seedling we export are hours of hard work, sacrifice, and a team that refuses to give up.

I am Ken the Farmer, a proud villager from Mchoka Bure, and I was born for this!

IT'S FRUIT SEEDLINGS EXPORT DAY!

This is how we prepare our fruit seedlings before exporting them from Kenya to other countries. We've been doing this for years, and experience has taught us a lot.

Today, from 6am, my team and I have been standing inside this flowing river, washing the roots of thousands of fruit seedlings heading to West Africa.

Now, this is not just ordinary water. This is clean, cold water flowing from the slopes of the mighty Mount Kenya, just a few kilometres away.

Where I come from, we deeply respect this mountain and everything it gives us. The rivers, the fertile soils, the fresh air and the life it supports.

To me, washing these seedlings in this water very early in the morning carries a special blessing.

These seedlings are leaving their motherland, Kenya, to grow in completely different soils and climates thousands of kilometres away. My prayer is that they establish strong roots, grow healthy and produce plenty of fruits for their new owners.

And because I'm a man who understands life beyond what the eyes can see, I had to speak a few words to these seedlings while washing them. I told them where they were going and what I expected of them.

But let me stop there. Some things are deeper than agriculture.

Maina, let me tell you something!

Today I harvested this beautiful peach fruit from my own tree, and wueh! The sweetness is on another level! This is one fruit I believe everyone should taste at least once in their lifetime.

Now, look at this carefully. This peach tree is growing in an ordinary plastic container, yet it's already producing fruits! Imagine what will happen next season when it grows bigger. I might need to start inviting villagers for a peach-eating ceremony.

As far as I know, in the entire Mchoka Bure village and its surroundings, I'm the first villager to own a peach tree, harvest peaches and enjoy eating them.

Mchoka Bure is slowly becoming a fruit paradise!
