🍌 "MIND = BLOWN!" - When Young Minds Met our team at CFTRI!

Just witnessed one of the most inspiring hours of learning in Mysuru! 🌟

A group of brilliant, curious 6th graders from Arivu Vidyasamsthe visited the CFTRI Banana Incubation Centre today, and honestly, their energy was contagious!

From the moment they entered, it was a question-athon:
❓ “How is the banana parts are used?”
❓ “Can this machine work for mangoes?”
❓ “How does the packaging keep it fresh for so long without chemicals?”

The team at CFTRI, didn't just give tours—they sparked imaginations. Watching the kids' eyes light up as they saw bananas turn into chips, flour, and even healthy snack bars was priceless. This wasn’t just a field trip—it was a real-life lesson in innovation, sustainability, and India’s food future.

What amazed me the most?
✅ The deep, thoughtful questions from these young minds.
✅ How complex food technology was broken down into fun, understandable demos.
✅ The pure excitement in seeing “waste” (like peels) being transformed into useful products.

ಸುತ್ತೂರು ಜಾತ್ರೆ - ಇದು ಕೇವಲ ಯಾತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲ, ಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ಅನುಭವಗಳ ವಿನಿಮಯದ ಮೇಳ! ಸುತ್ತೂರು ಜಾತ್ರೆ, ಭಕ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯ ಪರಂಪರೆಯ ಜೊತೆಗೆ, ಈ ಬಾರಿ ಕೃಷಿ ಮತ್ತು ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಆರ್ಥಿಕತೆಯ ಚರ್ಚೆಯ ಕೇಂದ್ರವೂ ಆಯಿತು.

ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ, ಜೆ.ಎಸ್.ಎಸ್ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರೀಯ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಆಫ್ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರಿಂಗ್ (SJCE-STEP) ಮತ್ತು ಜೆ.ಎಸ್.ಎಸ್ ಕೃಷಿ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಕೇಂದ್ರ (KVK) ರೈತರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ವಿಶೇಷ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದವು. 3 ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರ ಗೆದ್ದ ರೈತ, 'ಬಕಾಹು ಅಭಯ್ ನೈಸರ್ಗಿಕ ಆಹಾರ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯಾ ಘಟಕ'ದ ಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ನವೀನ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಎಚ್.ಎಮ್. ಅವರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
ನೇರ ಅನುಭವದಿಂದ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ನವೀನ್ ಅವರು, ಮೌಲ್ಯವರ್ಧನೆ (Value Addition) ಮತ್ತು ನೈಸರ್ಗಿಕ ಆಹಾರ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆ ಕೃಷಿಕರ ಜೀವನವನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಬಹುದು ಎಂದು ಜೀವಂತ ಉದಾಹರಣೆಗಳಿಂದ ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು. ತಾವು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದ 'ಬಕಾಹು' ಘಟಕದ ಮೂಲಕ ಹೇಗೆ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಉತ್ಪನ್ನಗಳಿಗೆ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಮಟ್ಟದ ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆ ಮತ್ತು ಗುರುತಿಸುವಿಕೆ ಸಾಧಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂಬುದು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಸ್ಫೂರ್ತಿದಾಯಕವಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ಕೃಷಿ ಪದ್ಧತಿಗಳು, ಮೌಲ್ಯವರ್ಧನೆ/ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆ (Value Addition) ಹೇಗೆ ಲಾಭದಾಯಕ ಸಾಧನವಾಗಬಹುದು ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಧಾನಮಂತ್ರಿ ಔಪಚಾರಿಕ ಕೃಷಿ-ಆಹಾರ ಉದ್ಯಮಗಳು (PMFME) ಯೋಜನೆದ ಅವಕಾಶಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆ ನಡೆಯಿತು.

ಕಚ್ಚಾ ಉತ್ಪನ್ನವನ್ನು ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆ-ready ಉತ್ಪನ್ನವಾಗಿ ಮಾರ್ಪಡಿಸುವ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ, PMFME ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ 35% ರಿಯಾಯಿತಿ ಯಂತ್ರಸಜ್ಜತೆ, ತರಬೇತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಬ್ರಾಂಡಿಂಗ್ ಸಹಾಯದ ವಿವರಗಳು - ನಮ್ಮ ರೈತ ಸಹೋದರರ ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯ ಕೇಂದ್ರಬಿಂದುವಾಗಿದ್ದವು.

ಇಂತಹ ಸಂವಾದಗಳು ನಮ್ಮ ಕೃಷಿ ಸಮುದಾಯವನ್ನು ಸಬಲೀಕರಿಸುವ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಮೆಟ್ಟಿಲು. ಹೊಸ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ಯೋಜನೆಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡು, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, ರೈತರು ತಮ್ಮ ಆದಾಯವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ ಎಂಬುದೇ ನಮ್ಮ ಹಾರೈಕೆ.
