Why I Wrote The Shadows of Valour
In uniformed service, despite the hardships and dangers, we remain rooted and anchored by the uniform, the brotherhood, and the flag. There is identity. There is belonging.
But for covert operatives, the reality is far more fragile.
They live in disguise.
They carry multiple identities.
They exist in spaces where they are often unknown, insecure, and hunted.
Their victories are silent.
Their sacrifices invisible.
Their existence marked by uncertainties far heavier and darker than those borne by others.
The Shadows of Valour was born from this truth.
This story is my quiet tribute to India’s deniable soldiers — the men and women who operate in the margins, who carry secrets heavier than weapons, who protect a nation that may never know their names.
It is not just a spy thriller.
It is a story of loyalty, betrayal, healing — and the cost of standing in the dark so others can live in the light.
If even one reader pauses to think about those unseen lives,
this book has done its job.
