PRESS NOTE
PRESENT NATIONAL CONFERENCE GOVERNMENT HAS FAILED ON ALL FRONTS: G.N. LONE HANJURA
Srinagar, October 20, 2026: Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (JKPDP) General Secretary (Organisation), Adv. Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura, today criticised the National Conference-led government, alleging that it has failed to fulfil its electoral promises even after completing two years in office.
Hanjura said that the government's failure to implement the commitments made in its election manifesto has left people disappointed. He expressed concern over the difficulties faced by the public and called for accountable governance, a responsive administration, and concrete action to address people's everyday problems.
He stressed that electoral promises must translate into tangible results on the ground rather than remain confined to political commitments.
Hanjura was chairing a meeting of district and zonal presidents of Kashmir Province to review organisational affairs, strengthen grassroots functioning, and improve coordination among party units.
The meeting was attended by Mohammad Khursheed Alam, General Secretary JKPDP; Mohammad Iqbal Trumboo, Spokesperson JKPDP; Arif Laigroo; District Presidents Mohammad Afzal Wani, G.M. Shahoori, Ab. Qayoom Bhat, Zaffar Ullah Wani, Adv. Sheikh Javaid, Zahoor Ahmed Rather, Mohammad Yaseen Bhat, and Aijaz Ahmed Mir, along with all zonal presidents.
Addressing the gathering, Hanjura emphasised the importance of maintaining regular public contact and ensuring that party representatives remain accessible to people in their respective areas. He urged them to listen to public grievances, understand local issues, and make sincere efforts to raise these concerns through appropriate channels.
He further stressed that a political organisation must remain firmly connected with the people and consistently raise issues affecting different sections of society. He underlined that effective public outreach, direct interaction with citizens, and stronger coordination between district and zonal leadership are essential for a vibrant and responsive organisation.
The meeting also discussed measures to strengthen the party's organisational network across Kashmir Province, improve communication among party units, and ensure that its activities remain aligned with people's aspirations and concerns.
The meeting concluded with a resolve to strengthen the party structure at the grassroots level, maintain a continuous public presence, and intensify engagement with people to understand and raise their genuine grievances.
